Rage grew up in the quiet town of Farmville Virginia. She started to rap at age 15. Realizing that a lot of producers and record label CEOs were in New York, she decided to hitch-hike there. She soon joined with another rapper to form he group 'Venom'. She also cut a joint with the LA Posse, which somehow found it's way to Dr. Dre's stereo. Dre noticed her excellent talent and she was soon signed to Death Row as one of the original inmates. She showed her skills on "The Chronic" and "Doggystyle" on various tracks. Her first solo track was 'Afro Puffs' which appeared on the "Above The Rim" Soundtrack. Then, Rage was quiet for a few years, but in July 1997, her long-awaited debut album was released. "Necessary Roughness" showed the versatility of Death Row, as it came with a different flavor. The beats had an East Coast style and Rage rapped some written tracks and some freestyles. Even though it was different to the usual Death Row style, it was still a very good album. Currently, Rage is having problems with Death Row staff, and has been locked out of Death Row Headquarters. It is in doubt that she will be on the label much longer, and no future projects are in the works.
