"College is just what I thought it would be- coffee, cigarettes and sex."

(The Facts of Life)

I'm a radio/tv/film major (especially film) at Rowan University. It used to be Glassboro State College. (That was when Welcome Back Kotter's Juan Epstein was a student here.) Then, Henry Rowan donated $100million to the school, and the name changed to Rowan College of New Jersey. Last April, we became Rowan University, and there was a big party where they threw T-shirts into the air. I didn't catch any because I'm short. It was very upsetting. If you're thinking of coming to Rowan, come. The longer you're here, the more you'll complain about parking, safety, food, etc., but I wouldn't go anywhere else. The people at Rowan are real people. When they're nice to you, it's because they want to and not because they should. Sure, some of the dorms look like bomb shelters, and the food is overpriced, but the Rowan community is what makes the school special. Besides, it's cheap.

Here at Rowan, I'm involved with Cinema Workshop, and I'm the Vice President of the Gay-Straight Alliance. I'm the token straight of the group. Listen. I'm straight; it's great. Get used to it.
