Digital Answeing Machine using 80296SA

This is the title of my final Year Project. I suppose to came out with a stand alone digital answering machine by using Intel lastest 16 bit microcontroller - 80296SA. This microcontroller have the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) capability. This is a very complex project because it involve with the hardware and also software implementation. Besides that, this project is involving of designing the whole system and it have a lot of things to be take into consideration.

I have devided my project into two main part : Software and Hardware Part.

I have to subdivide the hardware part into a few modules for easier management of the project.

The main part for my hardware are:

• Microcontroller interfacing Circuit (80296 and 28F004SC)
• Combo Chip (TCM29C13 , CD4060 and CD 4040)
• Telephone Circuit (MC34010)
• Hook switch Circuit (TS117 )
• Amplifier Circuit (MC34119 and LM324)

The main part of the software are:

• Graphic User Interface(GUI) using Visual Basic
• Control program for the microcontroller using assembly language.

This is the first time I am using a 16 bit microcontroller and so a lot of work and research have to be done to ensure that I am fully understand the project and all the tolls I use. I use a several tools they are:

• Tasking - assembler,linker
• Chipview - debugger
• Intel 80296 evaluation board

Now I have finish my Final Year Project. But I still not very satisfy with the result. I still cannot implement some of the function like Data compression.

But I think the constraint here is the time. With one semester time frame I think this is the best I can do.
