Reviews of
"A Mighty Wind" by The Four Bastards
Tim has been known to break a mighty wind himself
Synopsis -- mockumentary about three folk bands brought to you by the same folks who did "This is Spinal Tap" and "Best in Show," among others.
Short declaratory phrase in an attempt to get quoted in TV trailer, ad, or cover box --
"A Mighty Wind -- we like 'em!"
Ryan's review:
This film needs to be seen a few more times before any comparisons can be made
between it and its predecessors "Waiting for Guffman" and "Best
in Show." Right off the bat though, you have to see this movie.
Especially because I keep using some of Fred Willard's brilliant lines and
nobody has any idea of what I speak of. Jesus, I really butchered the last
two sentences...What Happened?
Christopher Guest is the master of his domain and it definitely shows with the
characters. Each and every one of them is detailed so well and is so damn
funny. Shit, I can't wait for the dvd out-takes, cause I'm addicted.
Rating: 7 out of 10 more times I could watch this movie
Nate's review:
I laughed a lot during this movie. It's so silly that you wonder what the hell is going to happen next. I'm not sure if this is better than Best in Show, and it's definitely not as good as Spinal Tap, but then again what is, you pieces of shit. A good time was had by all in attendance, and who am I to argue with the masses? Harry Shearer was a fucking riot. The ending has a nice twist. Go see it, a theater full of people who couldn't possibly be all folk music fans can't be wrong.
Rating: 8 out of 10 holes in records
