WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
My friend has asked me to tell my side of the story about what happened in the woods while we were looking for the Blair Witch. This is the story that I have to tell. If it wasn't for me we would never have found the woods because I was the one to get the map of the location. My neighbor and I were talking about the movie, "The Blair Witch Project," when he told me he knew someone who went to college near where the kids were found to be missing. I told him, I would be interested in exploring the woods, if he could get some directions. He told me he would try. About a week later, he gave me a map, not only showing the woods, but also the house! He said he got the information over the phone. I called my friend, asked him to go with me, and look around in the woods. We both laughed at the map, because we thought it was a joke. How would they have known where the house was, when the search party didn't find it? As we discovered, the map was a hoax. The house wasn't where it was marked on the map. We kept looking any way, until we were very sure we found it. My friend wanted to go inside but the door was locked. After walking around the outside of the house, we saw some rocks. My friend looked at the rocks and started running. We ran until we reached the stream. I asked why he ran, and he said he heard something strange. We followed the stream for a long time, but we didn't get anywhere, so we retraced our footsteps, and returned to the car. He was talking about the scary noises he heard and the spell we were under, while we were walking back to the car. This is what I saw. I saw the woods, some rocks, a house, the stream, an old turtle shell, and a woodpecker. My friend says he saw some stick figures, but I didn't see them. My friend said the woodpecker looked like it was two feet tall, but he was wrong about that. This is the strange part of the story. After we passed the old turtle shell, I looked back at my friend and he was wearing it on his head. I didn't say anything about it until we were back at the car. At that time he didn't have it on his head. I asked him about it, and he refused to admit he had it on his head. We then agreed that he must have been under a spell, or he never would have put it on his head, or forgotten it. I did lose my shoe because the shoe lace became untied. Since this has happened, we have told a number of people, and they have all laughed at us. Then they want to know where the woods are, so they can go look. We both have decided not to reveal the location. My friend has been warned not to keep telling his story, or he will regret it, but he is not afraid, even though he was the first to run. This is what I say happened, and I'm sticking to this story whether anyone believes it or not. - Navin R Johnson Jr |
