WEEK 1
This one was tough from the beginning. The
starting base was TINY - a cross-shaped facility with next to no room
for expansion - and the map was maybe three times larger than in the
previous two Novice level games. Add to that the fact that the
Dimension Gates were quite some distance away, and you had a recipe
for a long, hard road ahead...
The ground missions came thick and fast, with
Hyperworms rather than Brainsuckers being the major threat, killing
two and wounding many others. The UFOs took advantage of the
Dimension Gate locations, sneaking in and fleeing before any
interceptors could get a clear shot - the first intercept mission
yielded some successes, and a Type 2 UFO was recovered, but after
that, they were far more wary, and a whole lot more slippery.
The focus of alien attention appears to be the
north-eastern corner of the map, which included a large number of
Marsec factories and warehouses. Not good...
Greatest Victory : Recovering a live Popper the first time they were
encountered!
