Dr Yang (playes by Yu Rong Kwong) is a respected herbalist, who over the years is getting very tired of the political system.
He feels that the rulers are getting far to much money, and that the poor man on the street, is getting poorer by the day. Yang decides to do something about the matter and becomes the Iron Monkey. Sort of a martial art kind of Robin Hood. He takes money from the rich and gives it away to the poor and hungry.
This is something the government does not like. But they can not seem to stop him. So when the legendary Wong Kei Ying (Donnie Yen) comes along.
They put his son in prison. The childs name is by the way Wong Fei Hung, a name most martial art fan recognise. The government then tell Ying that the only way he can get his son out, is by stopping the Iron Monkey. Ying tries to, but the he gets to learn Dr Yang and understand that Yang and the Iron Monkey are the same person. He joins forces with Yang and fights the local government. This is an outstanding film, with some great fights and a good story.
Donnie Yen and Yu Rong Kwong is just great in this film. It is a must see for fans of this genre.
