January: Nate, Shawn, and Wanya made their third appearance on The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show, (Mike was sick). Uncle Sam was also there, he was in the middle of an interview when Keenen brought Boyz II Men out. Nate gave him a plaque for "I Don't Ever Want to See You Again" going gold, (it soon when platinum). They said they felt good to have a record label.
January: On MTV's 2nd annual Rock n' Jock Super Bowl, all four
members played this time. Wanya (#92) & Mike (#21) were on
the Us team, and Nate (#80) & Shawn (#8) were on the Them
team. Shawn seemed to talk to a lot of stars, including
Marlon Wayans and Pam Grier on the sidelines. Nate made a
big play in the 1st quarter by making an interception.
Shawn was interviewed for him and he basically said that
Nate had a great interception, which was then a great TD by
Marlon Wayans. He also said that the Them team was going
to continue spanking the Us team. When Wayne Chirbet on
the Us team got a touchdown, he pulled Wanya over to the
dance circle and Wanya almost danced. Nate got a touchdown
and of course had to do a dance to earn extra points! He
seemed winded though, he was doing a diso type dance! Then
Marlon Wayans ran to him and was trying to make him shake
his booty more! When Nate threw the ball to Shawn, Jerry
O'Connell tackled him very hard. Wanya even caught the
ball, got into the end zone, but a foul was called, so he
didn't get a TD. Oh well, his and Mike's team still
beat the Nate and Shawn on the Them team.
January: One of Boyz II Men's most watched performances ever was in San Diego at the Super Bowl. They were the headliners of the Motown 40 Halftime show. They came from under the stage and lip synched the song that got them started, "Motownphilly." Then they actually sang about two minutes of "A Song for Mama." For the grand finale, every artist who participated in the show came out and sang Motown's "theme song" "Dancin' in the Streets." Wanya & Shawn sang a bit of parts of the song.
January: On Entertainment Tonight, they showed stuff that
happened at the Super Bowl. They talked to Boyz II Men a
bit after they came off stage. They said that doing the
half time show was a three minute rush and it felt
good.
January: At the 25th annual American Music Awards, Boyz II Men won the only award they were nominated for, Best R&B Group. The Backstreet Boys presented that award to them. During their acceptance speech, Nate said that it was definitley Dru Hill's year, and that they are going to accept the award on behalf of Boyz II Men and Dru Hill. After they showed some of the best groups that had appeared on the AMA's in the last 25 years, they sang "A Song for Mama."
January: After the AMA's, Good Morning America was
backstage at the show and talked to some of the artists
there. They talked to Boyz II Men, and Nate said that when
they used to win awards at award shows, their friends paged
them on stage.
January: After the AMA's, Access Hollywood went backstage
and had Boyz II Men sing a bit of "A Song for Mama" a
cappella.
February: Boyz II Men appeared on The Rosie O'Donnell Show
for the 2nd time, but this time, her show was in Los
Angeles, California. The Boyz sang "Can You Stand the
Rain?" because it was raining really bad in Cali. the days
Rosie was in LA. When they were interviewed, they talked
about "Can You Stand the Rain?" being the song that got them
their big break, the story on how they met Michael Bivins,
how performing at the Super Bowl was, not doing stadiums
for concerts yet, and they would not want to live on Boyz
II Men Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey.
February: VH1 had a special on The Number One R&B Groups of
All-Time, which was hosted by the #1 R&B group of all time,
(sales-wise), Boyz II Men. They were at their rehersal
studio in LA. They talked about many of the great R&B
groups of all time, including themselves, LaBelle, Smokey
Robinsion & The Miracles, The Supremes, Kool and the Gang,
The Four Tops, BLACKstreet, TLC, and The Jackson Five.
They also were very funny, doing a lot of wacky things.
After they introduced Smokey Robinsion & The Miracles
"Tears of a Clown," Shawn sang it just like Smokey did, and
Wanya did the melody of the song. After TLC's "Waterfalls"
video, Nate played an air guitar while Shawn & Wanya sang
the song like T-Boz would. Before The Jackson Five came
on, Nate played the air guitar again (using his voice as
the actual guitar), for the Jackson Five's "The Love You
Save." Wanya & Shawn sang along with him, and Wanya was doing a lot of dancing. Before the show was about to
end, they all sang "End of the Road" like old men and waved
their hands in the air, like it was a concert.
February: Motown had a special on the 40 years of the
label. Boyz II Men were only on it for about three minutes,
which really does not make any sense since they are the
best selling Motown act ever. But, they did show them back
in 1994 in Australia where a lot of fans were at, and some
even fainted. They talked to Jheryl Bubsy & Michael Bivins
about them, and another guy said Boyz II Men could have
been around in 1965.
February: MTV Newz had a segment on Rock the Vote in New
York City. They were honoring Salt-n-Pepa. Shawn, Nate,
and Wanya were there. Shawn said that they are beautiful
people, in & out. They are always involved with community
services. They are talented and they really care.
February: Boyz II Men made another appearance on Regis &
Kathie Lee. Shawn was sick, so they could not sick. Shawn
was sitting during the interview looking really sad. They
talked about being a good thing they are not singing at the
Grammy's since Shawn was sick, Wanya usually getting sick,
when someone does get sick, they have to improvise when
someone gets sick, never having a speech prepared for award
shows, all Grammy nominations mean the same to them, and
they didn't even know what they were going to wear at the
Grammys yet.
February: On MTV's Pre-Grammy Show, Carson, (he interviewed
Boyz II Men on MTV Live), talked to them before the show.
When Boyz II Men found out that BLACKstreet & R. Kelly
beat them, they clapped, and we happy for them. They still
like going to award shows, very exciting for them. Just to
be nominated is important to them. The only award that
Boyz II Men has never won is the MTV Video Music Award.
They were also happy that Puffy won. They said they would
start their tour in the middle of April.
February: At the 40th Annual Grammy Awards, Boyz II Men
presented with Tara Lipinski the Best Pop Album award.
Nate went over Tara's sholuder while he talked, and Wanya
told her not to tell them who won, but she did anyway.
February: On the Soul Train Music Awards, Boyz II Men
kicked-off the show with Janet Jackson. It was their first
performance of "Can't Let Her Go." They were dressed in
gold puffy-like clothes and had footage from their rehersal
in the background.
February: Since Boyz II Men were going to be on All That,
they had a commercial for it. A boy on the show said that
he was Wanya from Boyz II Men. Boyz II Men looked at him
weird and Wanya said he is Wanya from Boyz II Men. So, the
boy said that he figured it was one of them. Then they
sang "Nickelodeon."
March: MTV had a special on The Nobel Peace Prize Concert
that happened in December of 1997. They showed Boyz II Men
sing "Yesterday," "A Song for Mama," and lip-synched with
Mariah Carey "One Sweet Day."
March: On the NAACP Image Awards, Boyz II Men were apart of
a tribute for Babyface, so they sang only 1 1/2 minutes of
"A Song for Mama" including other singers in the
background. They then showed them before the show winning
Best R&B Group for about 5 seconds.
March: On Nickelodeon's All That, Boyz II Men were the
featured guests! They had a classroom skit before they
sang. It was about Kenan and Kel arguing about what the
name was of Boyz II Men's first album. Kenan said it was
II and Kel said it was Cooleyhighharmony. After they
argued for a bit, Kenan opened the classroom door, and
there stood Boyz II Men. They walked in and they asked
them what their first album was called and they of course
said Cooleyhighharmony. They said Kel should feel foolish. They then sang "Can't Let Her Go."
March: On the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, Boyz II Men
did another performance of "Can't Let Her Go," with images
of their dancers on the screens in back of them. They then
won the award for Best R&B Group and were definetly very
happy. It was a great show by the Boyz.
March: On MTV's Spring Break, Negril, Jamaica Undercover,
they showed Shawn with the people featured on the show at a
club called Roots Bamboo.
March: ON MTV's Spring Break, The Grind, Marlon Wayans
hosted the show Boyz II Men performed at. They performed
"Baby C'Mon" & "Can't Let Her Go." During the "Can't Let
Her Go" performance, Wanya took off his light blue GTP tank
top and put it around his sholuders (he had an undershirt
under). Then, during his solo, he went down the stairs to
the crowd and was basically going crazy and having a good
time. Shawn and Mike were laughing when he did that.
During the interview, Shawn talked about the tour and
about shooting "Doin' Just Fine" in Kingston, Jamaica.
March: While Boyz II Men were in Jamaica to make their
appearance on MTV's The Grind and to make the fourth video
from Evolution, "Doin' Just Fine," they talked with MTV
VJ, Carson, who has interviewed the Boyz two times before.
They said that doing "Can't Let Her Go" is a much more
nonchulant-type performance. One of their first
performances ever out of state was in Jamaica at Montego
Bay for the Soul by the Sea show. They also said they
never really had a spring break at exotic-type places when
they were younger, they usually just hung out at home!
April: On Fox 11 News in Los Angeles, Boyz II Men
performed at a Sony Benefit concert, before the Evolution
World Tour. Mike was even dancing, so this must have been before his back went out.
April: On the latest version of MTV's Rock n' Jock, Nate
was on the Stars team, playing against the Pros team. Nate
did pretty well this time, much better than last time when
he made two errors on one play. Instead of being #II, he
was #28. He went 2 for 2, getting a double and a triple,
and two RBIs. The score was the Pros 6 and the Stars 5, but
it was a great effort by Nate and the Stars.
April: Boyz II Men appeared on the Spanish award show, the
Alma Awards. They sang "Yesterday" with Jon Secada (Boyz
II Men sang their parts in English and Jon Secada sang most
of his parts in Spanish). This is one of their first award
show performances were they didn't wear the same
clothes.
April: Boyz II Men hosted BET's request show, The Hit List
on the set of the "Can't Let Her Go" video. Nate was
always saying Stonecreek, baby after they introduced each
song. They acted very goofy, (as usual). The videos that
appeared on the countdown were (in no particular order),
"Motownphilly," "End of the Road," "I'll Make Love to You,"
"On Bended Knee," "Can't Let Her Go," "Hey Lover," "One
Sweet Day," and "A Song for Mama" (live).
May: Boyz II Men had their second Box Talk on The Box.
They were in an arena where one of their concerts was going
to be that night. During their interview, they talked
about who is coming with them on tour, (Wanya said JoJo &
K-Ci, but Shawn corrected him), they also said they were
going to interchange opening acts with local artists, they
showed the official Boyz II Men microphone (which is plexi
glass or seal through), a lot of stuff on the stage is
plexi glass for the people to see inside, they are a
different Boyz II Men, (a lot more mature performers),
Wanya explained the "Can't Let Her Go" video and song,
Shawn had the idea for the video to be a dirty rehearsal
type video, the video is like New Edition's "If it Isn't
Love", and "Can't Let Her Go" was like the first uptempo
song that they felt was different for them. Throughout the
interview, they were all looking at the Boyz II Men
microphone. Wanya pretended to drop it and made a funny
face. Then he pretended to sing on it.
May: Boyz II Men appeared on the show, Teen Files: Smoking,
Truth or Dare? However, their role in the actual show was
small with only a 35 seconds in length that seemed as
though was pieced together for the final cut. All they
were really discussing was how they found it a turn off if
they were gonna approach a "fly" girl and before they got
up to her she pulled out a cigarette. And Wanya chimed in
with "you might as well be lickin' an ashtray." Lots of
laughs throughout the cameo kinda makes ya wonder what else
they were saying that we weren't able to see. At the very
end, Shawn pretended to kiss someone, right towards the
camera!
May: Boyz II Men made their second and last appearance on
the shortly lived talk show, VIBE. When they came out,
Sinbad (the host) noticed the holes in Wanya's jeans, and
one of Shawn's pant legs being up, so he figured that the
tour did pretty bad. But, Shawn said that he wanted to
show off his new Scottie Pippen shoes and the hair on his
leg. They talked about going on tour, being men by the
time their 2 1/2 year tour is finished, they want people to
know that they are back, very happy about the success of
Uncle Sam, some people in the audience got Groove shirts,
Sinbad gave his Groove jersey to a girl who would give back
$40,000, having K-Ci & JoJo touring with them again, and
they sang the chorus to "Doin' Just Fine" in Spanish (Mike
was messing up a bit!). Later in the show, thy performed
"Can't Let Her Go" just about the same way they perform it
in concert. It was also the first time Mike was not
performing on TV with the rest of the group because of his
back. At the very end of the show, Sinbad asked Wanya if
he was still dating Brandy, he said no, and the crowd
wasn't
too happy with that answer. Sinbad then said that Wanya was dating
Fionna Apple (she's the same age as Brandy), and he bent
over and said don't be starting no rumors. Nate kept
showing the Groove symbol into the camera, but stopped when
Sinbad said that they are dating members of the Spice
Girls.
May: Boyz II Men made their first appearance on the new MTV
news show, MTV Newz 1515. They arrived at the Stratosphere
Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada to meet MTV reporter, Chris
Connely. First, the "gambled" at roulette, but Wanya said
the game was fake. Shawn bet his money on 25 (that's how
old he is), and 26 (he will be 26 on the 26th of
September). Nate even put his watch on the table. After
they were done betting, they stopped at a Las Vegas wedding
chapel, A Little White Chapel. When they got there, a van
has crashed into the over hang of the chapel. Instead of
Boyz II Men wrecking hotel rooms, they wreck wedding
chapels, and clearence signs. They then sat down to watch
two people getting married. Shawn and Nate pretended to
cry. When the ceremony ended, Wanya said right into the
camera, I guess that it's for him. Before they left, they
sang a bit of "Can You Stand the Rain" for them. The last
stop on their adventure in Vegas was the arena where they
would be performing later that night. They showed them
rehearsing a bit (Wanya even had on a green robe). About
the low sales for Evolution, they said that all they can do
right now is go up from the low point of Evolution now.
Then Shawn said that they don't want the roses they throw
out during "I'll Make Love to You" to be caught by guys.
Let the girls have the roses. At the very end, the showed
a bit of their performance in Vegas that night, I think it
was during "Baby C'Mon."
May: On Extra!, they interviewed Brad Beckerman (mostly
about his ex-wife, Paula Abdul). He is the co-founder of
Groove, Boyz II Men's clothing-line. They showed Boyz II
Men and Brad in a store looking at a bunch of nice-looking
Groove clothes. Nate said that they have known him since
they came out in 1991, so they wanted to work with someone
they trusted like him.
May: On MTV's Monster Movie Countdown, "End of the Road"
came in at #6. During the video, they had facts about Boyz
II Men and the movie Boomerang showing up. Here is what
popped up about Boyz II Men: The band used to sing on
Philly streets and Subway platforms as Unique Attraction.
(This one showed Shawn talking in 1992) He basically said
that they knew it was a good song when they recorded it, bu
they didn't know the people would love it so much, so they
were very surprised. This single was number one on the
charts for 13 weeks in 1992. The band has become Motown
Records best-selling act. There is a street in New Jersey
named after the band. The band performed for Pope John
Paul II during his 1995 American visit.
June: On VH1's Teen Idols special of the 90's, they showed
pats of a performance of "Motownphilly" in 1995, in Boston,
and a bit of "A Song for Mama" being performed live in
Japan in December of 1997. They also showed a bit of an
interview that happened the same day the interview with MTV
Live happened (they had the same clothes on that they wore
to MTV Live). Nate talked the entire time, and he said
that they have been growing and changing a lot since they
have been in the music business, sometimes for the good,
and sometimes for the bad. He also said that survival is
crucial, and the artist is always the last to recieve
anything. Then the host talked about their business
ventures, Stonecreek Recordings, Mike being an actor and
writing scripts, Nate having a hair salon (International
Stylings), and the clothing-line with the rest of the
group, Shawn having a movie production company, and Wanya
having two insurance agencies.
June: On Brandy's 40 Favorite Videos, they showed Mike
talking at a 1995 concert in Hartford, Connetcuit because
he is this generaion's Barry White. He said something
like, ladies, welcome to my home. Then they showed Brandy
talking about Boyz II Men in 1995 when she toured with
them. She basically said they are her favorite group, and
they taught her how to act on stage.
July (?): Mike appeared on the runway in a Fubu
commercial.
July: On Access Hollywood, they showed clips from a concert
on the Evolution World Tour. They talked to Boyz II Men
about being back on the road after three years of leaving
the road. Shawn said he was excited to be on the road
again, to see the crowd reaction, and Nate said there was
going to be lots of energy on the tour.
July: On The Philadelphia Action News, they went behind the scenes of yet another Boyz II Men concert, this time on the Evolution World Tour. What they showed was the fellas about to go on stage to a sold out crowd of 30,000 in Chicago, Illinois. They were streching, and Wanya was warming up his voice. They showed bits of them performing "Motownphilly," "Can You Stand the Rain," "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," and "Sympin'." A reporter than walked through Stonecreek Studios talking about the place. Boyz II Men were then interviewed after the concert to talk about their free concert in Philly coming up. They love performing in Philly, and love the city in general. Shawn showed what their outfits were going to be for the night, a Phillies hat and jersey.
July: On July 4th, Boyz II Men performed a free concert in
their hometown of Philadelphia. Before the concert, they
appeared on a float with some family members in a parade.
A reporter talked to their mothers and Nate's grandmother
before the show. Shawn's mom was even wearing a Boyz II
Men shirt. Once the actual concert started the band came
on and a few minutes later, Boyz II Men came on. The
concert was pretty much like a regular concert except that
there were less songs and they did not pass out roses
during "I'll Make Love to You." Another huge difference
was the fact that they were playing in front of 1 million
people there live and more people watching on local TV.
The song list went like this: "Motownphilly," "Under
Pressure," "Sympin'," "Baby C'Mon," Shawn talked to the
audience about Mike, "On Bended Knee," "Doin' Just Fine,"
"Please Don't Go," "End of the Road," "It's So Hard to Say
Goodbye to Yesterday," "U Know," "Little Things," Mike does
his part in "Uhh Ahh," rest of the group comes back out and
does chorus of "Uhh Ahh," BREAK, "4 Seasons of Loneliness,"
"Water Runs Dry," "A Song for Mama," "I'll Make Love to
You," BREAK, and "Can't Let Her Go." The concert was
filled with bad microphones though, so that started to get
annoying. Shawn even almost tripped during one song. Mike
danced during few songs, but he did dance during "Please
Don't Go." After Mike did his "Uhh Ahh" solo, the rest of
the group came out in wife beaters. The only time
fireworks really went off were doing "Can't Let Her Go."
Overall, the concert was pretty good.
July: ON MTV's FANatic, a "dedicated" fan got to meet Boyz
II Men in Los Angeles, California. They had a mini bio on
the Boyz, and it said named after the New Edition song
"Boys to Men", the four Boyz II Men have over 30 brothers
and sisters, and they are the best selling artists ever on
Motown records. They also shoaws a few facts on Jamie (the
girl who met them), they said she has every Boyz II Men
published recording, has a teddy bear that plays "Water
Runs Dry," and tried to steal Nate's boxer from Boyz II Men
tour bus. Jamie's friend Denisha told her she was going to
meet them after her math final at San Diego University, and they drove in a limo to the Great Western
Forum in LA to meet and interview Boyz II Men. When she
was waiting to go interview and meet Boyz II Men, Shawn
called her from a walkie talkie, so she could go and talk
to them. When Jamie got into the room were Boyz II Men
were, they all hugged her, and she almost started to cry,
but got herself together very quickly, which is hard when
your idols are directly across from you! I have to admit,
that the questions she asked were questions I've heard A
LOT before, so I wasn't really impressed with her at all.
The questions she asked were if they wore boxers or breifs
(they already answered that question on the MTV
Rockumentary), what they do from the time they get up, from
the time they go to bed (they've answered that in many
interviews), and what Khalil meant to them (they've
answered that in Then II Now and many interviews). Since
Wanya was just getting over his polyp, he could barely
talk, so he asked her if she was going to the show, and she
said no. To see the look on Boyz II Men's faces was the
worst! Then, they gave her a Groove hat, jacket, shirt,
and in the jacket pocket were tickets to the show, so she
seemed pretty happy, who wouldn't be?
July: On VH1's first ever Viewers' Vote, Boyz II Men were
nominated in the Best Soul Artist category against Erykah
Badu, Babyface, and Brian McKnight, they were the youngest
in the category. The Boyz of course won, and during their
Hard Rock Live interview gave a mini "acceptance speech".
First, they went a little crazy, then Wanya brought up the
fact that they don't get a trophy, so Shawn said, call back
and request a trophy for us. On the serious side, they
thanked all of the VH1 viewers. They were also the first
group of men to ever win on the Viewers' Vote, so that's
pretty cool, too.
July (?): Boyz II Men made a short appearance on Entertainers with Byron Allen. They showed Boyz II Men recording "Your Home is in My Heart" with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis present, but Chantee Moore (the person they did the song with) somewhere else. Boyz II Men were of course at Stonecreek recording. They were even two little boys there that might have been Nate or Mike's sons.
July: On VH1's Hard Rock Live, Boyz II Men performed a
concert in New York City with 200 people in attendance
(Hard Rock Live is a show that lets artists perform in a
more intimate setting), and it was a good concert from what
was shown on TV. The songs they showed on TV were
"Motownphilly," "Under Pressure," "Sympin'," "I'll Make
Love to You," "A Song for Mama," and "End of the Road."
They were wearing all blue overall type clothes, and when
they did slow songs, they put on a blue jacket. Mike was
in his chair in the back for most of this concert, since
his back still isn't ready to dance. During "Under
Pressure," Wanya picked a girl to sing his solo too, which
was sweet. When Wanya introduced "I'll Make Love to You,"
he said, "Ladies of New York City, let me ask you a
question. Can Boyz II Men make love to you tonight?
That's what it's about, making love." All four of the
members then threw out roses like they always do during
that song. Wanya had his last rose in his hand, went up to
a little girl and said, "You're just a little to young to
make love to, but what I'm gonna do is give you this rose,
and tell you have a good summer," and then he kissed her.
Now how sweet was that?! During "End of the Road", Nate
sang his solo to some lady and when he finished singing it
to her, he kissed her hand! During the interview with
them, Nate talked about them being performers, and they
have to get people to have a good time, and he talked about
being extremely blessed with all of the success, which is
not normal, and thanked God for the ride.
August: Boyz II Men made their first and last appearance on
the cancelled talk show, the Magic Hour. Since Magic
wasn't that great of an interviewer, comedian Tommy
Davidson was his co-host. When Boyz II Men came out, the
band was singing "Motownphilly," which didn't sound as good
as when the Boyz do it. They were of course all wearing
their Groove gear, even though Wanya doesn't like wearing
his. The interview was OK, they talked about seeing them
on tour, Shawn congratulating Magic on his show, going to
other places in October for their tour like Australia,
China, and other countries, fans are everywhere, all have
similar backgrounds, Nate told the story on how Boyz II Men
came together, Shawn said no one liked Nate in high school
because he had a hood mentality, Nate then said Nate put a
group together, which means that was the old him, when Nate
was telling the story on how they met, Wanya kept saying he
was first, so everyone looked at him weird, they disagree
about everything, mostly stupid stuff, Nate and Brad
Beckerman's idea was Groove, they decided to do the 45
record disc (they call it the google) because musicans can
relate to it, talked about Evolution, sang a bit of "It's
so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" a capella, and when
the interview was over, Shawn said they were going to
Jamaica on Wednesday to perform Saturday at Montego
Bay.
September: Nate made an appearance on the ABC talk show, Politically Incorrect. He was dressed in a red Groove shirt and a red Groove hat. There were two women and one guy with on them show, I think he was the most famous of the four. They talked about many issues, including the entire President Clinton thing, religious issues (Nate got really mad about that one), a guy getting into a car crash and becoming gay (Nate made a good joke about that one), the "dangers" of the internet, and a few other subjects. Nate didn't talk as much as the other three, but he still did a great job expressing himself.
October: Boyz II Men made yet another appearance on Regis & Kathie Lee this time in their hometown of Philly. They were all wearing their Groove gear of course! Nate was yet again asked about his Super Bowl ring, this time by Regis. So, he explaine dthe story of how they got their own super bowl rings. They talked about being fifteen minutes away from their high school, The Creative and Performing Arts High School, they met when Nate and Mike were Seniors, Shawn was a Junior, and Wanya was a Freshman, they are at their ten year reunion of being together, Shawn talked about their first real performance at their high school on Valentine's Day, glad that one million people showed up for their 4th of July concert, they have terrific fans in Philly, they talked about their new song on the Prince of Egypt soundtrack, and then sang "I Will Get There" in a cappella.
October: Wanya appeared on MTV's The Cut twice for the semi-finals of the show. On the first episode, the host, Left Eye from TLC, introduced him as the voice of an R&B generation. The scores he gave the music hopefuls were not too good, the highest he could give was a 10. He gave Whet a 7 (liked them overall), Monet an 8.5 (liked her vocal skills), Paj 3 a 6 (they were the winners), and he gave the last girl a 9 (he thought she was sexy). On the second show, Wanya was still a little harsh. He gave the Wise Men a 6 (he later dissed them saying they were dressed like they just came home from school), S.I.L.K.-E featuring G-Nut got an 8.5 (they were the winners of the entire show beating every single artist), the next group got a 7, and the last group got a 4 (he obviously thought they were terrible).
October: Boyz II Men appeared on BET Heart & Soul, and told everyone what they eat. Mike said he eats salad everyday. Shawn said he eats salad with romaign lettuce since it has more vitamins, while Shawn was saying this, Wanya was saying he's lying! Shawn said he also eats fish and baked chicken. Nate said he likes stir fry with veggies and shrimp, but he only eats once a day, and he knows he is not healthy. Wanya didn't really say what he liked but he did say he goes to the gym at weird times of the night (3 AM), and if he eats late, he'll have a piece of cake, (he was kidding).
November: On BET, Boyz II Men appeared in Lift Every Voice and Vote commercial. Shawn was the one who talked and said you can't except something to change if you don't vote, and encouraged everyone to vote.
November: On Entertainment Tonight, they had a small segment on the making of the "I Will Get There" video in Los Angeles, California in November of 1998. Nate talked aboutthe video and the Prince of Egypt having similarities and that it feels good to be apart of this movie. They then showed clips of the fellas recording the song a few months earlier, and while they were there, Shawn talked about "I Will Get There" having to do with getting over adversities. At the set of the video, they showed them filming Wanya walking and they sang the chorus a cappella.
December: On the NBC special, When You Believe: Music From The Prince of Egypt, Boyz II Men lip synched "I Will Get There" with a choir and band behind them. It was a very good performance. The special showed more clips of the fellas recording the song.
