Triceratops was one of the last and largest ceratopsids. Nearly one-third of its length was a massive head with a short, solid frill and formidable brow horns longer than the nose horn. The bony horn cores alone measured up to 3 feet so the actual horns may have been much longer.

Many dinosaurs are known only from a few pieces of bone, but hundreds of Triceratops skulls have survived. These help scientist to identify Triceratops species as different from one and another such as horses from zebras. So far, experts have identified 15 supposed Triceratops species and five Triceratops like genera, but four of the genera are forms of Triceratops - some diseased.
