BLACK CAT, THE

(1980, Italy)

DIRECTED BY: Lucio Fulci.

The interesting opening with a black cat scaling the rooftops of a small village had me watching the film very intrigued thinking this was going to be unique. The film quickly goes downward though as the ridiculous story propels this to foolish heights. As far as I understand an old feller played by Patrick Magee (wheelchair guy in ClockWork Orange) can communicate with the evil souls that are transferred into a black cat.

The cat goes around committing murders on various victims in particularly impossible ways for a cat to accomplish. The ending is muddled as we are subjected to close up shots of Magee's eye balls. A cruddy little film actually. Not much gore or for that fact anything else.
