BLOOD FREAK Review On "Violent Maniac's Cage"

Oh boy do we have a winner here. This was one of the strangest films I received requests for, and I did get plenty of e-mail requests for it. I looked everywhere for it and checked every database imaginable looking for this little film. Director/producer Brad Grinter stars as a man who sits behind a desk, smokes and points out the "pretty girl with a problem". The hero is a Vietnam vet biker named Herschell (like Herschell Gordon Lewis), he meets a young woman named Angel and offers a ride to her. They then arrive at her sister Ann's house where the two moral souls lecture about morality and purity to the drugged up lost souls. The evil sister Ann then entices poor Herschell and gets him to smoke marijuana. The two sisters have a scientist father who experiments with turkeys and gives Ann a drugged Turkey to feed to Herschell, which turns him into a Turkey headed monster. He then has terrible dreams about people eating him and he precedes to hunt down drug dealers and dispatches them in some very fake looking scenes. Luckily for Herschell, sweet Angel is able to save him with prayer…. The movie is interrupted periodically by Grinter who gives his moral comments and ends up coughing uncontrollably due to his smoking. As you can tell this was made by a Christian church and their message was simple, stay true to faith and avoid drugs. OK, what we end up with is a film which boasts wonderfully bad acting, poor scripting, laughable fx and a really awful rock music soundtrack. Yet as I finish I must end with a fun quote: "Go ahead and become a Bible Freak. I don't give a damn!"

Horrible beyond words film about a biker/turkey farmer who gets turned on to weed. Once he starts, he can't stop smoking the stuff. He gets a bad batch from his girlfriend which causes a chemical reaction in his body. This caused by something which happened to him in Viet-nam. he devours a whole turkey and then goes into an epileptic fit. Finally he turns into a turkey headed monster.

In order to stay alive he must go around drinking drug addicts blood. Pitiful gore effects and even worse acting. Every now and then a guy comes on as the narrator talking about some rubbish. Hard film to sit through thats for sure. The monster looks really foolish. This movie is right up there on the worst films ever list with Headless Eyes, Redeemer, Futurekill, Chud II, Edge Of The Axe, Twisted Nightmare and The Night Brings Charlie. Its a real TURKEY, gives strong meaning to the word. If there was ever a rating below zero skulls, this would get it.
