BRAINSCAN

(1994, USA)

DIRECTED BY: John Flynn.

Ughhhh, this film is a chore to sit through. A low brow teen horror movie for the nineties generation with two seconds of T2 fame, Eddy Furlong, in the lead role. Furlong once said he loved horror films but this doesn't prove it.

Well, it has a young man played by Furlong who purchases a gaming machine with all the trimmings which includes a new game called Brainscan. The game in reality is not a game at all, it involves killing people but what Furlong doesn't know is that it is all too real. Trouble brews for him when a detective comes snooping around his place and the evil Trickster emerges from Brainscan to influence Furlong to kill. This should be a childrens TV special on the dangers of video games. This yawner has a great plot (ya, sure) chintzy effects to boot.
