First off I have to say that this Italian-Spanish-American film must be given a award for the most also known as listings. The cut Flesh Hunters version is supposed to have all of the gore cut out of it but there's not really barrels of gore in it anyway but there is enough. The film was shot in Atlanta with Americans John Saxon and John Morghen still using their real voices but others in the cast are dubbed maybe excluding Tony King. It starts off in Vietnam where John Saxon gets bitten by p.o.w John Morghen who has been infected with some sort of cannibal virus.
After this Saxon wakes up and what is a dream actually happened. One day Saxon recieves a call from Morghen asking him if he wants to go out for a drink but Saxon refuses remembering the incident in Nam. Morghen is soon on the run after biting into a womans neck. He barracades himself in a department store and shoots some folks with a shotgun. The cannibal virus spreads and soon Saxon joins veterans Morghen and Tony King along with some other missus to wreck some havoc.
Check out the shot-gun deaths, lady gets her breast torn off, tongue biting, neck chewing, flesh-munching, dog exploding, body torching, head smashing and the goriest scene where a mechanic has his leg meat sliced up quite messily. The film has its moments and one of those is when Morghen gets a nice sized whole blown through his gut. Decent fx by Gino De Rossi. This film is nothing spectacular but its not shitty either, It keeps you entertained.
I'll tell you now that the cannibals are not slow like zombies or stupid like tribal cannibals they look and act like normal people. Worth a watch and for some reason I love vietnam based movies.
