CONTAMINATION

ALSO KNOWN AS: Contamination: Alien On Earth, Toxic Spawn, Alien Contamination.

(1980, Italy)

DIRECTED BY: Lewis Coates (Luigi Cozzi).

Early eighties Italian horror entry no doubt made to try and gain some success from the release of Alien a year before, Insemenoid Aka Horror Planet could also be added to this list. Like Horror Planet Contamination isn't a bad film and actually watch able if you don't mind horrible dubbing and inane dialogue.

On the plus side we get some nice gore, those exploding chest cavity scenes are show stoppers (guts everywhere!) and the alien looks quite good even if you can't see it very well and it only shows up for the last 10 minutes of the movie. The Goblin music score isn't bad either. I'd recommend Italian/Euro horror fans to give this a try. Ian McCulloch from the late Lucio Fulci film Zombie and Dr. Butcher M.D stars. Released and cut extensively as Alien Contamination.
