EVIL DEAD II: DEAD BY DAWN
(1987, USA)
DIRECTED BY: Sam Raimi.
This sequel to the classic Evil Dead is surprisingly just as good. the gore isn't as harsh but the film is still packed with the sauce along with some great overacting and witty dialogue. Chiseled chinned hero Bruce Campbell returns to give a not so serious performance as the hero Ash. The film eventually picks up where the original left off but it tries to be a remake.
Ash is in the secluded cabin once again and the evil is out there to get him. His girlfriend comes back to life after being killed, his hand comes to life and so does everything else in the cabin. Eventually some travelers show up for extra kills. Forget Rambo, Ash is a real hero. This movie is "Groovy". Gotta love those nasty menacing camera men who chase Ash throughout the film. Followed by Army Of Darkness. Rent all three for guaranteed satisfaction.
Rating: 4 ½ Skulls
