FRIDAY THE 13TH
(1980, USA)
DIRECTED BY: Sean S. Cunningham.
Probably the most (in)famous slasher film of all time along with Halloween and the Nightmare On Elm Street series. The eerie music, stupid young folk and gore effects (by Tom Savini mind you) are all here. The film looks incrediably cheap though a remastered version would be much appreciated.
An unknown stalker is knocking off camp counsellors at Crystal Lake and despite the many warinings given the patrons still set up camp. Quite scary and very effective, I have to say I liked a lot of the sequals as well (excluding Jason Takes Manhatten and Jason Goes To Hell, they are'nt bad but my least fav's of the series). Not much else to say about this film except if you don't know that Jason isn't the killer in this one you shouldn't be watching!
