HALLOWEEN II
(1981, USA)
DIRECTED BY: Rick Rosenthal.
A very respectable sequal to the first classic Halloween installment. This is a good horror slasher on all standards but it's not a classic. This one has more gory murders including a syringe through the eyeball, temple, hammer in the skull, neck slashing, scalpel impaling and hot water scalding. Its just too mechanical and predictable. The hospital looks like it's closed for god sakes and almost deserted which is very how can you say fake, theres hardly any staff working.
Myers basically not dead from the first is on the rampage and in hot pursuit after Curtis as she's transferred to the hospital. A very respectable slasher. Pleasence returns as Loomis who doesn't meet up with Myers until towards the end of the film which is quite a flaw in the story. Still, I enjoyed it. The ending is quite good with the eyeball shooting and oxygen tank exploding sequance.
