HARDROCK ZOMBIES

(1984, USA)

DIRECTED BY: Krishna Shah.

Strictly an exercise in schlock and even scholck isn't this bad. Its definetly beyond one of those it's so bad it's good movies and it's half a skull rating is highly deserved. The film is totally off the wall and many laughs can be had when viewed with a couple of friends. Movie has the gayest of the gay hard rock band I've ever heard (I would call it retro eighties to be precise) scheduling to play at a town that doesn't want them there. The rednecks have a meeting and it is just one big laughing riot especially when one feller has to be told what sex is. When the guy is told he gets up and waves his arm in a large stroking manner and he then asks his friends to remember the time when they had some fun with a farm animal ( this scene is worth the half skull alone, hilarious).

The band are eventually killed when they do get to the town but not before acting ridiculously stupid (I swear this movie was more like an eighties music video than a movie) by strutting around town. An oddball family in the place who are actually Nazi's ran by Adolf Hitler kill the band one by one and they come back whenever a friend is in need of help. The band look utterly laughable as the zombies as they look more like dolled up mannqunins doing the robot dance. Some of the worst special effects so bad that they can't be called "Special". Lots of off the wall characters like Adolf Hitler, Midgets, a lady which turns into a werewolf, a bald headed axe welding weirdo and even some strange little monster that eats itself the second half of the film. He pours sugar on his remains and chows down. There's a town record breaking orgy and even a chick who dances throughout the film.

Worth renting for a laugh but don't pay more than a dollar to do so. Now lets all go listen to some Twisted Sister, Poison and Quiet Riot. yeeeeeeeeeha!
