ITS ALIVE

(1975, USA)

DIRECTED BY: Larry Cohen.

A cult classic which had me laughing when I should have been in suspense. Don't ask me how this film received such status as it is not a good film. It has a strong message about the use of birth drugs and world pollution problems along with an emphasis on atomic radiation.

A woman gives birth to a deformed demon baby with claws and fangs which goes on a goofy killing spree. The movie has the father of the evil thing, John P. Ryan trying to track it down. It's just one long dreary film. I found it unlikable and the baby looks very stupid even if we don't see much of it. Rick Baker didn't deliver in this one, with the effects. A real downer, the feeling of the film is dead and cold.
