According to Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller's forthcoming book, Live From New York, excerpted in the newest Vanity Fair magazine, Dan Aykroyd was the Casanova of Saturday Night Live. "I was involved with Gilda, yeah," he says of Gilda Radner, describing an early romance, when they were both in The Second City, a Chicago-based comedy troupe. "We were friends, lovers, then friends again." Laraine Newman, another early cast member, says, "I had a thing with Danny for a while. He was just adorable and irresistible, and we had a lot of fun." Movie director John Landis recalls being told by John Belushi that writer Rosie Shuster was both the wife of SNL creator Lorne Michaels and the girlfriend of Aykroyd. "Which is true. It was wild." Aykroyd has been married to actress Donna Dixon since 1983.
