"I decided I wanted to be an actor so I could be cool and all the girls would see me," he recalls. "At this commercials agency, a bunch of us kids were lined up like cattle. The lady in charge goes, 'Okay, I'll take you and you and the rest of you are out.' I was broken hearted. I went up to her and and asked why she hadn't picked me. 'Wrong haircut,' she said."
"Another lady took me on and changed my name. She said Leonardo DiCaprio was 'too ethnic'. I got changed into something more white-bread, so I could go into auditions and say, 'Look, I'm Lenny Williams and I have blond hair.'"
