Swing Shift was released by Warner Bros. in 1984. The film stars Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Christine Lahti, Ed Harris, and Fred Ward. Its U.S. Gross was about 6-7 million dollars. The film was not very successful.
In an unusual dramatic role, Goldie Hawn plays a Navy wife who takes on an assembly line job at a World War
II munitions plant. Kurt Russell is a fellow worker with whom she falls in love. A fine period drama.
Academy Award Nominations: Best Supporting Actress--Christine Lahti. The director Jonathan Demme directed "Silence of
the Lambs" in 1991. I give Swing Shift a 7 out of 10.
