Tango & Cash was directed by Andrei Konchalovsky. It was released on December 22nd, 1989. It made 6.6 million dollars on its opening weekend and had a total U.S. Gross of 63.4 million dollars.
If it isn't Tango it's Cash, if it isn't Cash it's Tango. Kurt Russell is Cash and Sylvester Stallone is Tango. Warner Brothers spent 50 million dollars to make this film. The reviews for Tango & Cash were terrible. No critic had one good thing to say about this action movie. Tango is the more organized officer of the law while Cash is more of the "Jack Burton" type of police character (Big Trouble In Little China). Tango and Cash are excellent cops who are irritating crimelord Jack Palance. As a result Jack Palance frames the two cops and now they are both sent to prison. They escape and so they must both proove thier innocense.
The film has amazing action packed crashing, explosive scenes. The music is composed by Harold Faltermeiyer (Beverly Hills Cop). Teri Hatcher plays Tango's little sister. One of the best things about this film is the cool prototype car, and the large trucks. This movie is one of the best action flicks of 1989. Perhaps even the best of the 80's. I give Tango & Cash a 9 out of 10.
