Small Beware: Mostly Personal Thoughts & Feelings During Journey!
By SimbiAni B.
OK, so I have a bad life, and I know it. I live for accomplishing small goals that mean a lot to me. When I say I'll do something, I try to do it. I really go on faith & depend on nothing but my planning & luck. [Note: My previous & following concert experiences will be posted later] So, in a way, I am crazy. Absolutely. Ain't that something?
I gotta say, I really do appreciate my luck now, tho. & I think it's was sorta mad at me for pushing its limits. Well, I don't think I got anywhere near its limits (but I wish I did! Why couldn't I have met one of them? Got an autograph? Got backstage? At least front row! But, no!! ... ;~} ) I think just asking for a few things at once might've been a bit much, tho. LOL. Yeah, I went all the way to Hempstead/Uniondale, Long Island, NY, from Lawrence/Boston, MAss, with NO, I'm saying NONE AT ALL, money to get back, AND I had NO tix, that's ZERO, to even see the show.
But I went. I saw them, & made it back, safe, sound, & on time. And here's my story.
2nd Warning: I am VERY vague for those who don't know how I live & with who & where and all that stuff. Sorry. It'll soon be explained (sorta) later in my Diary, tho. Don't worry! I hope you get the overall meanings of what I'm saying...)
On Saturday night (Feb3), I left my best friend Aimee's house (where I lived at the time, but now on my own again), out walking. My plan was, w/the little $$ I had, to just go there (Long Island) & see what happens. First stop, went to B&R to see if my Mom would help me out last minute (uh, w/money). 'Course not. She didn't favor me going anyway, so she hadn't given me much earlier in the week. She didn't believe I would do it. I had nobody else to help me, either. (Please don't remind me of the get-a-job stuff either, thanks, for those of you who thunk it. I start at Showcase Cinemas next month!)
Then I realized I had forgotten one of my most important accessories--- my camera. So I walked all the way back to Aimee's, & ooh, her look was priceless. I mean, she didn't expect to see me back, I guess. Well, then it was only 8pm, so I decided to stay a little while longer. Ate some of her Mom's Shepard's Pie. Tried talking to Aimee. She given me mostly the silent treatment & bad faces & won't even look me in the eyes. Ugh.
Ah, well, she knows I do care, I guess I do have to wait forever for her to come around. (BTW, Aimee is the kind-of person who feels alone no matter what, and she hates that I'm gonna be her friend forever, & thinks her only purpose if to feel bad about everything. This has been discussed many times between us, but she keeps pushing me away so I treat her normal & life goes on, I figure she'll either open when she feels like it or won't, whatever happens she's still my best friend!) And I forgot to call Mayreni back, (accident!) 'cuz she wanted to try & convince me not to go. Oops.
OKay, so then 9pm came & I had to leave, but kept delaying 'cuz waiting for last words from Aimee. All I got was attitude. Aww, man! ;~{ She really is a nice person tho! (& Yes, I know, what if she's reading this? We're really close, but she never sees my website; altho if she is, HI AIMEE!! SORRY I DIDN'T GET TO MEET NICK FOR YOU!! I'll say sorry a million times about anything to get thru to her!)
... Yes, I'm crazy. So I went walking to our Lawrence MBTA train station. Very cold, 10*F! Waited till 10:30pm train come, me on, & pay, then hour ride to FleetCenter (North Station), & me green/red T to South Station & walk up to Greyhound Terminal, buy ticket, wait for bus. Also, so u know I have a walkman w/me 95% of my waking hours of life, tho it's on only half that... So I was singing under my breath to pass time. I do that a lot, like SO much. I love to sing. Check what kind of music I like in the About Me page.
Ride 12:30am (now Sunday) bus ~ I make it a goal to get the front seat by the door, best way to prop your feet up & not feel claustrophobic of small spaces like those seats! Mostly I sat & listened to my walkman (silently ;~), & no read 'cuz dark, & time creeped by, me dozed little on & off thru 3 CDs on my discman, Savage Garden, Christina Aguilera, & "B&B" by BSB but since I had brung cheap batteries (they are all cheap nowadays!) my discman died after half of BSB's 2nd round...
Driving into NYC--- wow, lotta taxis! ;~} Then while in bus, me lookie at everything! ;~} It's like 3:50somethingAM & this is my first ever in-person look at NYC... It's alright. Soon enough we arrived at the Greyhound bus terminal in NYC, & I had to wait for the Hempstead bus from 4:30am on... Boring! Walk, sit, stand, music, I gotta get used to these radio stations! Tick tock... I didn't sleep 'cuz if you've seen these bus stations, it's like an airport! Every available seat was already crowded for the night.
Well, at 8 almost 8:30am, my curiousity won me over & I went up/s to see stuff, read some mags & found a free e-mail thingy!! It was a bit annoying 'cuz 5 minutes at a time only... & Then 9:30 so catch bus, nice morning, do same on bus... Arrive Hempstead at 10:45am, so walk & explore, found pub lib & police station... Then me 40min walk (u know I'm used to it; walking as far, I mean) to Nassau Coliseum. ;~} Oh, too early! Only 12:45 now! Hah LOL!
Met nice 18yo girl at city bus stop across the street from the Coliseum in front of McD's, & she buy me #9 at McD's YAY! Met another girl, 12yo w/an 11yo bro--- now he was SO annoying! The girl was pretty cool! We had a fun time hanging around together, w/her mom & aunt. But aww, man! She had 5th row in the 100s! ;~{ Just hang w/her outside the coliseum, from 1:30pm to like AHH! Boring! Cold!... Then she & her Mom & Aunt let me in thier car, little bit hot chocolate, & funny talk... Mostly stand at the entryway to down under garage & wait for the Boys to arrive. SO long! Me keep asking 'round for tix. No hope ;~{ Tick tock... Time passes & I got frostbite feet & fingers & nose! LOL Well, me just did that, I mean, hang out & ask for tix; "Excuse me, do you have an extra ticket (please)?" Most common reply was "No, sorry..." & half had atty probs, others ignored me. *sigh* Even the radio station people were no help. ;~{
Then... FINALLY! I meet a nice lady who her daughter had gotten better seats (2nd row in the 100s!) & wanted to bring her best friend, & so her Mom had 2 tix... tho 300s aww! Her Mom didn't want to drive around for the night & me--- I solved the problem. ;~} She couldn't sell the tix separately (you know just one) so she gave me one, we went in together & got separated later. I missed out on Krystal by going to the bathroom & then calling & trying to talk to Aimee... so FRUSTRATED! But at least Iris was excited & she couldn't believe it. LOL!So then--- oh, yeah, tried Mayreni but no home ;~{--- I went to my seat SO FAR AWAY haha & wait for show to start--- Damn screaming girls loud! heehee me so happy 'cuz B-Rok touched my heart & the guys r so funny & cool & just WORTH IT! Love the whole concert, so AWESOME!! Happy Happy, Happy! But no one to share it with, darn!
After show, found phone to call Iris, couldn't during the show 'cuz no cell phone 'cept a dead one (yes, I poolitely was asking some poeple sitting near me if they had cell phone I could use, & a father let me use his but it did a few seconds after Aimee's little bro picked up, so I didn't get to talk to her aww!)... Tho, Iris was a bit optimistic, 'specially now. Then she tell me that Aimee called her & duh! Aimee's mad at me, like "how can she just leave like that?" & Iris said her mom & Aimee's R worried... yay people DO care... & I'm still crazy... We talked bit more 'bout dreamin' possibilities, then she tired so hang up...
Went across to the hotel but really hopeless to see them 'cuz already gone; they were "staying in the city" & you know I hanged, sitting on a couch in the lobby like all night
