Jason Weaver.... How do I start.....?? |
|||||||||||||
He was born on July 18, 1979, in Chicago, making him now, 20 years old...(Age ain't nothin but a number though, right?) His mother, Kitty Haywood, is a studio singer who helped in the growth of Jason's singing and acting abilities. He first started acting in Coca-Cola commercials which soon led him to starring in "The Jacksons: An American Dream." He played none other than young Michael Jackson. And his voice was bangin even back in the day! In 1994, he landed two major roles. One, being the ever so popular singing voice of Simba in "The Lion King." I think we can all agree how much of a king he really is! Then he went on to play Jerome Terrell in the short lived TV series "Thea." ABC movie of the week, "Summertime Switch" starred Jason Weaver and Rider Strong. In 1995, Jason's first album dropped called, "Love Ambition." Motown legend from the start! In '96 came along his second album, "Stay With Me" containing 6 songs and a BOMB looking front cover! His most recent project was TV show, "Smart Guy" which has recently been cancelled. He played the young, FINE Marcus Henderson, and older brother of the smart guy. This show was around for 3 seasons starting in 1997. (Please help me out by writing to the WB asking to bring this show back- Check out my "SaveSmartGuy Page...Thanks!!) And supposedly, but is not confirmed...Jason is working on his third album, My Secret Place" which is supposed to come out December '99. Check it out!

(taken directly out of magazine...)
As the Smart Guy's hoopsplaying sibling, Jason Weaver (aka Marcus Henderson) always manages to get busted by his parents and lectured by his superbright kid bro. And from where we sit, he's also the one who keeps the laughs a-comin'. Go With The Flow: If Jason had to give himself a "guy" nickname, it would be Patient Guy. "That's the one thing that I've learned the most about," he says. "I take things as they come instead of constantly looking to change them." Dream Weaver: At age 13, Jason starred as kiddie Michael Jackson in the TV miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. Michael Jackson handpicked him from all the kids that auditioned. Culinary Cutie: Jason doesn't go for the glam scene. In fact, he'll take chiling at home over partying any night. He likes to cook- "Creole, soul, Italian, you name it"- and believes making a meal for a girl is way romantic. This sweetie's single, but definitely looking: "I want someone who's caring and genuine, someone I can hang out with and tell everything to." he says. The line forms to the left. Zen Dudism: How does this funny fox chill out? Meditation. "I sit on the floor and light candles," he says. Some of his less- enlightened buds find it a little strange: "When they see me, they're like, 'Man, what's goin on?'" In The Groove: Acting isn't Jason's only talent. "Music comes first in my life," he says. In 1995, he cuz an album called "Love Ambition" for Motown Records. He's currently revving up to release his second. And, oh yeah, for a sample of his sound, pull out that video of "The Lion King" you kid bro probably has; Jason's the singing voice of young Simba. |
