Cinderella's Castle

The songs, the cast, the movie. One word describes Cinderella, and that is PERFECT! If you’ve seen the 1997 version starring Brandy, you know what I’m talking about. I love this movie. The songs are my favorite. The cast was great. The movie was just so entertaining. No offense to Brandy fans out there, but she sounded wonderful in this movie. It was the first time I actually liked her singing. She has beautiful voice inside of her, but she only used it in this movie. And, she was so pretty in this movie. Paolo Montalban as the prince was perfect. He was so cute and his voice was beautiful. When him and Brandy sang together, the harmony was excellent.

Anyway, I wanted to make a small page dedicated to this brilliant movie. I have a cast list, lyrics of the songs (I don’t have all the songs up yet) and a short outline of the story (like you don’t know the Cinderella story, but there’s different versions). I'll try and get pixs up soon.

The Story

Cinderella lives with unhappily with her step-mother and step-sisters. One day in the marketplace she meets the prince indisguise. At home, Cinderella only has her own little corner where she can be what ever she wants to be. The king and queen can't help but to plan a ball where all the elegible women of the kingdom can dance with Prince Christopher. He objects, but they do it anyway. Cinderella's evil step mother and sisters find out at the market. They go to the ball, but tell Cinderella she can't. She respects that, but then becomes sad. She preys for help just as her Fairy Godmother appears. She tells Cinderella of all the dreamers out there, but no of them try to fulfill their dreams. Cinderella decides to go to the ball with her Fairy Godmother's help.

At the ball, Prince Christopher is having a boring time until Cinderella walks in in her beautiful blue dress. Everyone stops and stares at her, and he asked her to dance. They dance for a while then go to the garden for a little privacy. That's where they talk of what the perfect person for them would be. They find that each other is the right person for them, and fall in love right then and there. But the clock strikes twelve. Cinderella rushes off into the night leaving her glass slipper.

Prince Christopher goes around the kingdom in search of his one true love. He arrives at Cinderella's house where her step-mother obviously tries to hide her in the kitchen. Prince Christopher gets suspious, and demands to go in the kitchen. Sje lets him go in, but Cinderella isn't there. She actually outside where Prince Christopher finds her, and they get reunited. They marry, and Cinderella never sees her step-family again.

My little scenario doesn't give the movie justice. It's more then just that. With all th songs and acting, it's greater then anything you just read. But, that's just the outline of the story.

The Lyrics

The Sweetest Sound I’ll Ever Hear

sang by Brandy and Paolo Montalban

Cinderella:

The sweetest sounds I’ll ever hear

Are still inside my head

The kindest words I’ll ever know

Are waiting to be said

The most intrancing side of all

Is yet for me to see

And the dearest love in all the world

Is waiting somewhere for me

Is waiting somewhere, somewhere for me

Prince Christopher:

The sweetest sounds I’ll ever hear

Are still inside my head

The kindest words I’ll ever know

Are waiting to be said

The most entrancing side of all

Is yet for me to see

And the dearest love in all the world

Is waiting somewhere for me

Is waiting somewhere, somewhere for me

Both:

The sweetest sounds I’ll ever hear

Are still inside my head

The kindest words I’ll ever know

Are waiting to be said

The most entrancing side of all

Is yet for me to see

And the dearest love in all the world

Is waiting somewhere for me

Is waiting somewhere, somewhere for me

In My Own Little Corner

sang by Brandy

I’m as meek as a mouse

When I hear a command, I obey

But, I know which spot in my house

Where no one can stand in my way

In my own corner, in my own little chair

I can be whatever I want to be

On the wings of my fancy, I can fly anywhere

And the world will open it’s arms to me

I’m a young Egyptian princess

Or a milk maid

I’m the greatest pre-Madonna in the land

I’m an heiress who has had her ? made

I have my own flock of silk worms in Japan

I’m a girl in Gamete with a game I can play

With a cool and confident kind of air

Just as long as I stay in my own little corner

All alone in my own little chair

I can be whatever I want to be

I’m thief in Calcutta

I’m a queen in Peru

I’m a mermaid dancing upon the sea

I’m huntress on an African safari

It’s a dangerous type of sport and yet it’s fun

At night I’ll salliforth to seek my query

And I find I forgot to bring my gun

I am lost in the jungle all alone and unarmed

when I meet a lioness in her lair

Now, I’m glad to be back in my own little corner

All alone in my own little chair

Impossible

sang by Whitney Houston and Brandy

Impossible!

For a plane yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage

Impossible!

For a plane country bumpkin and a prince to join in marriage

And four white mice will never become four white horses

Such fall-der-all and fiddle-di-di of courses

Impossible!

But the world is full of zanies and fools

Who don’t believe in sensiable rules

And won’t believe what sensible people say

And in that because we’re doing it

We’re building up impossible hopes

Impossible!

Things are happening everyday

Ten Minutes Ago

sang by Brandy and Paolo Montalban

Prince Chrisopher:

Ten minutes ago I saw you

I looked up when you came through the door

My head started reeling

you gave me the feeling

the room had no ceiling or floor

Ten minutes ago I met you

And we murmured our how-do-you-do’s

I wanted to ring out the bells,

and fling out my arms,

and to sing out the news

I have found her

She’s an angel

with the dust of the stars in her eyes

We are dancing; we are flying

And she’s taking me back to the sky

In the arms of my love, I’m flying

Over mountains and meadows and plains

And I like it so well that for all I can tell

I may never come down again

I may never come to earth again

Cinderella:

Ten minutes ago I met you

And we murmured our how-do-you-do’s

I wanted to ring out the bells

and fling out my arms

and to sing out the news

Prince Christopher:

I have found her

Cinderella:

I have found him

Both:

In the arms of my love, I’m flying

Over mountains and meadows and plains

And I like it so well that for all I can tell

I may never come down again

I may never come to earth again

A Girl Like Her

sang by Natalie Desselle and Veanne Cox

Minerva:

Why would a fella want a girl like her

A frail and fluffy beauty

Why can’t a fella want a one ? girl

A solid girl like me

Penelope:

She’s a fluffy little bubble

with a flimsy kind of charm

And with very little trouble

I break her little arm

Both:

O, why does a fella want a girl like her

So, obviously unusual

Why can’t a fella want a one ? girl

A usual girl like me

Minerva:

Her face is exquisite I suppose

But no more exquisite than a rose is

Penelope:

Her skin maybe delicate and soft

But not any softer then a dove

Minerva:

Her neck is no longer then a swan’s

Penelope:

She only as dainty as a daisy

Minerva:

She’s only as graceful as a bird

Both:

So, why is the fella going crazy

O, why would a fella want a girl like her

A girl who’s merely lovely

Why can’t a fella want a one ? girl

A girl who’s merely me

What’s the matter with a man

What’s the matter with a man

What’s the matter with a man

Wonderful As You Seem (This is a beautiful song)

sang by Brandy and Paolo Montalban

Do I love you because you’re beautiful

Or are you beautiful because I love you

Am I making believe I see in you

A girl to love me to be really true

Do I want you because you’re wonderful

Or are you wonderful because I want you

Are you the sweet invention of lover’s dream

Or are you really as beautiful as you seem

Cinderella (spoken): Maybe you’re imagining me. Maybe I’m imagining you too.

Am I making believe I see in you

A man who’s perfect to be really true

Do I want you because you’re wonderful

Or are you wonderful because I want you

Both:

Are you the sweet invention of lover’s dream

Or are you really as wonderful as you seem

I Only Suppose

sang by Brandy

I suppose that when you come into the ballroom

And the room is softly floating in the air

You’re suddenly confronted by his highness

You are frozen like a statue on the stair

You’re afraid he’ll hear the way you’re heart is beating

And you know you musin make the first affair

You are seriously thinking of retreating

Then you hear him asking you to dance

A Lovely Night

sang by Brandy

A lovely night, a lovely night

A finer night you know you’ll never see

You meet your prince

A charming prince

As charming as a prince could ever be

The stars in the hazy heavens tremble above you

While he is whispering "darling I love you"

You say goodnight

Away you fly

And on your lips you keep a kiss

All your life you dream of this

lovely night
