Notes
1. Aguayo defeats El Gran Hamada in the finals of a tournament to become the first Light Heavyweight Champion.

2. Title held up in a match against Villano III on 5/3/87.

3. Villano III defeats Aguayo in the rematch for the title.

4. Villano III is stripped of the title after jumping to PROMELL in 1/95.

5. Flash defeats Fighter for the title.

6. Sasuke defeats El Samurai in the second round of the J-Crown tournament. Defeats El Ultimo Dragon in the finals on 8/5/96 to become the octuple crown champion (which, of course, included the WWF Light Heavyweight Title).

7. Ohtani is forced into vacating the title (by the WWF) on 11/5/97.

8. TAKA pins Brian Christopher in the finals of a tournament to become to first WWF Light Heavyweight Champion since the title was brought out of retirement.

9. After Gillberg is released from the WWF in April of 1999, he returns for one night for the Sunday Night Heat tapings and loses the title to Essa.

10. X-Pac is injured when the WWF Light-Heavyweight title and the WCW Cruiserweight Title are to be unified at Survivor Series 2001. Tajiri continues to wear the WCW Cruiserweight title, but when X-Pac returns to house shows, he is still wearing the WWF Light-Heavyweight title as well. Yet, when X-Pac makes his television return, he is strangely missing the belt. Tajiri is called the "WWF Cruiserweight Champion", and no mention of any unification is made.

11. World Wrestling Federation Entertainment officially changes their name to World Wrestling Entertainment on May 6, 2002, thus getting the "F" out and becoming WWE. Tajiri is the first WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
