It had been over two months since it had happened, but he still remembered it all as if it been yesterday. Coming home, walking up the stairs, finding Jenny dead on his bed. Angel had killed her and left her there for him to find. Just this morning he had remembered the one thing that had escaped his mind. Jenny had wanted to tell him something. That was when he had called Willow. Even though it had gone against his heart’s desire, he knew that whatever Jenny had been doing she had wanted it done, and he intended on doing just that. After all life must go on.

"So Giles, what’s going on?"

"I began to recall certain bits of information from…" He paused, should he be doing this? The question pressed him. After all, Jenny’s death had shattered Willow. It had, had the same effect on him, but it was different, he was an adult and Willow was merely a child. Maybe he should have just left her out of this. But he couldn’t do that and he knew it. Taking a deep breath he continued. "From the night Jenny, Ms Calendar was killed."

Grief flooded across Willow’s face. "I see, wh…what kind of information?"

"Well I had gone to her classroom to return the book I had borrowed and she was working diligently computing something or other. I really didn’t get a good look at it, she shut it down rather quickly. Anyway, she had asked if we could meet later that night to discuss some things. Jenny thought she may have found something that would be of help, but she couldn’t be sure and she didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up."

"Giles, what do you think she wanted to discuss with you?"

"I’m not too sure, but I think that whatever it was, it had to be important; to who I’m not sure. I also think Angel knew what she was doing and that’s why…"

"So you think it had something to do with Angel?" Giles nodded. Willow’s eyes widened, "You don’t think she had…"

"Found a way to restore Angel’s soul? I don’t know."

"But it would make sense. Oh Giles, I don’t know if you’ve heard any of this, or if you even want to…but, Ms. Calendar’s computer had been thrown to the floor. It caught on fire and the room was a complete disaster." Willow looked at her hands. "Giles, they don’t think she was killed right away. It looks as though there had been a fight…" Her eyes filled with tears. "It seems as though she had tried to get away, but…"

They sat in silence until Giles finally spoke. "After much consideration and even though this goes against every fiber of my being, we need to find whatever it was that Jenny was working on. She was trying to help, I think she would want us to do this, sort of a last wish, so to speak. We owe it to her!"

"How are we going to do that?"

"I had been counting on looking through her computer, but I guess we’ll have to start by looking through the books."

"Right. Giles, do you really think this is what Ms. Calendar was trying to do?"

"No Willow, actually I think she had done it. That’s why Angel killed her!"

"I thought he would be happy to get his soul back, so he could be with Buffy again."

"The Angel we knew would have been, but I’m afraid Angelus doesn’t take kindly to being restored to his former self. Vampires don’t like it when people make them feel human and they’ll go to any length to make sure that the person pays for it."

"That’s why he’s after Buffy."

"I don’t think it’s quite that simple. With Buffy, Angel plans on making her insane before he kills her, if he kills her."

"Just like he did to Drusilla."
