Xander was the first to notice her. She was a beauty. Long red hair that trailed down her back, a lithe, trim figure, and heart-stopping eyes. A person could drown in those expressive pools.
She was dressed simply, and didn't appear at all to care about all the attention she was drawing. The eyes of every guy in the place was attached to her, as if she had a magnetic pull that was almost irresistable. But it was also very intimidating, as few dared approach her.
"Xander!" Willow shout, along with a jab in the ribs, helped him regain his focus, as he'd been staring slack-jawed at the girl.
"What?"
"What's gotten into you?" Buffy asked, as she followed Xander's line of sight to the girl.
"I haven't seen her before. She must be new around. I would have remembered that face." Xander looked as if he was about to go back into drool mode, so Willow poked him in the ribs again, as she and Buffy rolled their eyes.
Buffy bit her lip, then stared at Willow. "She seems to be putting out an unusual presence. I can feel it from here." She then looked at Xander. "And it seems to be affecting every guy in the place. I'd better go check it out." She got up and turned around, heading towards the bar and the girl. However, she stopped before she took two steps.
When they hadn't been looking, Angel had come up to the girl and they had started talking. In a very familiar and intimate way, as if they knew each other very well. The girl laughed and put her hand on Angel's arm. The two then stood and left the Bronze, her hand firmly attached to his arm.
Buffy quietly sank back down into her seat, dejected. Xander made some cutting remark, but she didn't hear it. But within a few moments, she snapped out of it and suddenly said "I'm leaving," without warning, and took off out the door that Angel and the girl had used.
Once she arrived outside, she glanced around, but couldn't see Angel or the girl anywhere. Becoming dejected again, Buffy headed for home.
