Buffy entered the library with her head hanging low. She slowly moped over to chair and sat down. She didn't need to speak, Giles and Willow could see her screaming, "Ask me what happened."

"Buffy, are you okay? You look a little...upset," Giles finally brought up.

"Snyder caught me trying to get off campus again. Soon, he's going to put a silver plaque at the desk where at sit in detention." Giles and Willow couldn't help but smile. "So, what are my slayage plans tonight?"

"Well, patrolling. But I shouldn't have to remind you of..."

"Of Angel. Yeah, I know."

"Dear, dear Angel, such a sweet little boy." A voice came from the doorway of the library. Everyone turned to look as Buffy jumped out of her seat up to meet girl.

"Who the hell are you?" Buffy glared at the very attractive young girl standing before her.

"I'm a friend."

"Certainly not mine," Buffy at her with a harsh tone. The girl approached Buffy with a sly grin on her face.

"Oh, Buffy, but you don't even know me yet. So quick to judge a person. You really must work on that."

"Do you wanna tell me what you want before I knock you out cold?" Giles and Willow could only watch from afar. You could see the wheels turning in Giles head as he tried to ponder who was this strange girl who challenged the Slayer.

"I don't want anything, Buffy. Not yet anyway. You know Buffy, you and I, we're the same. Well, kinda. See, your the Slayer, born with the strength and knowledge to fight and kill of vampires, demons and ghouls. Well, so am I, only, I was chosen to work for the other side. I fight and kill the good so that evil may rule."

"Savarah!" Giles gasped as he fell into a chair. He'd heard that she existed but always hoped she wasn't real.

"Good, good, I see we've been doing some reading. But then, when are you not."

"Look, I don't care who you are, however knowing is all the more reason to kill you." Buffy continued to stare at Savarah with fire in her eyes.

"Oh, but Slayer...you can't. I'm smarter, and stronger. You'll never kill me." Buffy threw three hard kicks to Savarah's stomach and then a hard backhand to her face as she tried to recover from the blows. Savarah took several steps back but showed no sign of pain. Buffy pulled a stake from her shirt sleeve and thrust it directly into Savarah's chest. The stake caused Savarah to stumble a few steps before pulling it out of her chest. Buffy looked to Giles for help but found nothing. When she returned her eyes' on Savarah, she saw the gaping wound repair itself in seconds.

"A stake? Come on Buffy, I'm no vampire." Savarah smiled as she tossed the stake back to Buffy. "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, I'm immortal. You can't kill me. Isn't that just the coolest?"

"Immortality never stopped me from killing anyone before."

"In due time, we'll find out my dear. Right now, I have some friends to visit. I do believe you know them. Angel, Spike and Drusilla are expecting me. It's been ages since I've seen dear old Angelus. I wonder if he's still as bad as he used to be? Oh well, I'll find out soon enough." Buffy's face faded from anger to fear and jealousy. As much as she hated the evil Angelus, she would always love Angel. Savarah disappeared out of the room.

"You know Dru, Spike's a big boy, he doesn't need your pity. You could be doing more important things...with me." A large grin came over Angel's face as he entered the warehouse. Drusilla was sitting on Spike's lap cuddling close.

"Angel, I do believe we were here first. Why don't you go somewhere else."

"Don't mind him, Angel, he's just a little crabby as usual." Drusilla coyly stroked Spike's face with her fingers.

"When is he not crabby?" A girls' voice came from the shadows of the room.

"If I remember right, that's what made him so good at what he does." Savarah stepped out of the shadows and strolled over to the group who was standing by the large dining table. Angel's face lit up as he watched her come into the light.

"Savarah!"

"Angel," Savarah spoke fondly. "It's been way too long." She stepped up to Angel and looked deep into his eyes. He wrapped his arms around her and then they kissed, passionately. A large smile came over Spike's face as he watched them kiss. He knew that with Savarah here, Angel would be too busy to even think about Dru.

"Oh, get a room, you two! I know it's been a while, but please, there are others here." The two reluctantly broke away from their kiss but remained tight in each other’s arms.

"Spike, that wheelchair, it's so not you. You really should get out of that thing.

"I don't suppose you could help with that?" Spike spoke eagerly. "It's a possibility." Spike and Drusilla smiled with excitement.

"So, I met this, Slayer...she's good, but I can't stand the attitude."

"What are your plans for her, Savarah?" Drusilla asked still on Spike's lap.

"Oh, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a long painful death. How's that sound to you guys?" They all began to laugh hysterically.

***

"Who's Savarah?" Giles sat quietly still in shock from moments ago. "Giles, wake up, who is Savarah?!?"

"Uh, what? Oh, yes, Savarah. She's well, uh, someone I never really knew existed. I only heard myths about her existence but, never in my life as a watcher did I think she'd..." He faded off into his worries.

"Giles, that's not helping."

"Well, she's a creature of the darkness and yet she's not a vampire or demon. She is 100% human and 100% evil. She's never lost a battle."

"Hey guys!" Xander strolled into the library with Cordelia on his arm. Oz was following after them. After viewing the frightened look upon their faces Xander began to worry. "Hey, is everything okay?"

"No...not at all okay. Things are not okay. Okay, is not what everything is right now." Willow sat impatiently in her seat waiting for someone to comfort her. Oz rushed to her side.

"Will, relax, everything will be just fine. That is as soon as someone tells me what will be just fine? Someone wanna fill me in here," Oz snapped. Buffy and Giles fill Xander, Oz and Cordelia in on what just happened.

"Okay, so we have an immortal demon that wants to kill Buffy and has some sort of strong alliance with vampires."

"Xander, you sure have a way of making things sound a whole lot worse."

"Oh, sorry Buffy."

"Giles, I need you to find anything you can on this girl. There has got to be a way to kill her."

"Right."

"We've got a lot of work to do, so lets get busy before this girl goes on a killing spree."

***

"Nothing!" Buffy yelled, scared and frustrated. "If this girl is so powerful, then why can't we find one bit of information on her?" Giles looked briefly at Buffy and then held his head low. For the first time in his life as a watcher, he didn't know how fix this. Even with the Master, he was willing to offer himself, but this time, that wouldn't work.

"Wait, I think I found something. Yes, I found it." Willow looked around the library trying to grab everyone's attention. Buffy rushed up behind Willow who was sitting at her laptop.

"What? What'd you find?!?" Buffy couldn't control herself. The thought of her Savarah and her powers fueled her passion to kill her.

"Whoa! She sure looks good for someone who's 1200 years old."

"1200?" Buffy and Willow both leaned closer to the computer to examine the picture and facts next to it. "Yeah, I'd have to say she looks good."

"In 794, she was transformed by a vampire known as Rockter. He was a big and as bad as the come. Months after she became a vampire, Rockter faced a slayer to the death. After hours of fighting, the element of exhaustion was factored in and he was killed. When Savarah found out about this, she avenged her sire's death by going after the slayer. Savarah killed the slayer in minutes."

"Wait, she was a vampire? What about this "human" thing she was talking about?"

"I'm getting there." Willow tried not to snap, but Buffy's enthusiasm towards killing Savarah was being to freak her out. "In her years, Savarah faced and killed 4 Slayers. Each one, she killed with ease. At the age of 600, Savarah encountered a man who called himself, 'The Dark One.' He made her a deal she couldn't resist. His time as 'The Dark One' was near its end and he wanted Savarah to take his place. Her strength and willpower was more than enough to prove that she was the only candidate for the job. She accepted and took over as 'The Dark One'. Her powers as a vampire were stripped and she took on an immortal human form."

" ‘Dark One?' What the hell is that?" Buffy's voice trembled with fear.

"The Devil." Giles quietly added in.

"What?" Buffy gasped and stared at Giles, impatiently waiting for an answer.

"'The Dark One' is not exactly the devil, but the name fits. It's the ruler of the darkness. Every vampire, demon, and creature of evil worships it. Vampires are the worst, they would kiss the ground she walked on if asked to do so."

"I really don't see Angel as the ground-kissing type."

"I'm afraid to say, but Angel is the worst of all."

"Oh," Buffy spoke under her breath. She dropped her head as far as she could.

***

"Angel. You know this Slayer pretty well, huh?"

"You could say that." The slightest bit of fear exposed itself in his voice.

"Good. Then you can come with."

"Where?"

"We're going to pay our little Slayer a visit. When she faces me, I want it to be fun. And it won't be any fun if she isn't scared."

"I do love the way you think," Angel spoke with a small grin on his face. "Among other things."

Savarah smiled lightly back at him.

"We'll be back in a while. You two hold down the fort while we're gone."

"I think we can do that," Spike responded sarcastically.

"Spike..."

"Sorry."

Angel was shocked. In his time knowing Spike, he had never seen him apologize to anyone but Dru. Angel and Savarah left the warehouse hand in hand. It was completely dark outside now. As they left, Drusilla fell into one of her visions. Spike rushed to her side as she collapsed into a chair.

"Dru! What do you see?"

"She knows. She knows everything. Something's going to go wrong. Someone will betray."

"Dru, who?"

"The Slayer." Drusilla went unconscious and fell off the chair. Spike caught her in his arms and pulled her onto his lap. He was worried, but not sure for whom. He wheeled the two of them off to the bedroom.

***

"Hey look what I found!" Willow jumped in her seat as everyone gathered around the computer screen. "I found out how to kill Savarah." She pauses for a moment as she reads more. "Oh, oohh."

"What is it?" Xander was too scared for Buffy's life to be patient.

"Well, the only way to kill her is for her to be killed by those that worship her the most."

"Vampires," Buffy gasped as she stepped away from the computer and walked to the counter. "So, I guess this time, it's for real. No Xander coming to breath life back into me."

"Now, Buffy...don't jump to conclusions. We still haven't had..."

"Spare me, Giles." Buffy couldn't control herself. "I've been there and done that. In case you hadn't noticed, we're not exactly good friends with any vampires." Giles was speechless. "Well, at least I know who will take my place this time. I doubt she was having much of a life anyway." Tears pooled up in Buffy's eyes as she slammed her fist into the counter top. Everyone jumped at the noise. Her friends couldn't stand to watch the Slayer cry but tried to hold their tears back for her sake.

"Buffy! How you been?" A familiar voice bounded into the room. Buffy jumped at the sight of Angel and Savarah entering the Library.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Buffy's voice was deep and full of fury.

"Oh, I brought him along. I thought it might be nice for you two to meet again."

"How did you get in here?" Giles questioned, fear was evident in his voice.

"Well, I explained this to your former girlfriend. It really isn't that hard with such a inviting sign out front."

"We just thought we'd come by and say, 'Hi!"

"How thoughtful of you," Buffy snapped.

"I thought so." Angel dropped in hoping to get deep under Buffy's skin.

"Why me? Why do you want to kill me?"

"Kill? Well, that's an easy one. Your the Slayer. And I know I can take you."

Buffy glared at Savarah and briefly took her eyes off her to keep an eye on Angel. "What makes you think that?" Buffy spoke challenging however knowing that she didn't stand a chance.

"See your little friends over there. The Watcher, the bookworm, the reject, the snob, the wolf. I could kill them all right now with the snap of my finger." Savarah spoke braggingly, hoping to put all the fear she could into the slayer.

Buffy was more scared than ever. Not just for her life, but for her friends. Now knowing of Savarah's powers, she felt trapped. The thought of offering her life to keep her friends alive crossed her mind several times.

"We really should be going now. Like I said, we just wanted to say Hi."

"Sleep tight!" Angel growled as he left the room with Savarah on his arm.
