Yes, to many people, there is. Titanic can be told as not only a movie, but as a story. You have the story if you have the script (of course). But I've found people on the internet who've told parts of this Titanic story of Jack and Rose in more of a story format. These stories really bring Titanic to life when you read them, so I offered to post them right here for others to enjoy, instead of just on messageboards where I found most of them posted.
In addition to these stories that take place in the movie, there's a fan fiction story that gives us an idea about what was happening on the morning the Titanic set sail, before the story that took place on the Titanic in the movie started.

This takes place during the scenes of when Cal was getting impatient with looking for Rose, and Lovejoy finally finds her. Then it describes the scene where Jack tries to pursuade Rose into the lifeboat, he and Cal fially manage to, to when she jumps off and Cal starts shooting at her and Jack.
