Episode 104 + 105 (Season Premiere)
The Kids Are Alright **** / The Song Remains the Same ***

-- The gang makes their way back to Boston, Joey ended up spending summer in Capeside rather then Paris; Audrey, Pacey, and Dawson in L.A., Jen with her parents, and Jack in Boston. Dawson doesn't make an appearance until near the end of the show when he appears to meet Joey, whisk her away into fairy tale land and make love to her. Pacey and Jack toy with finding an apartment, Pacey wants a job and his own place, Jack wants privacy. Jen is surprised to see Grams in own of her classes, and is in relatively good mood, trying to change her life from the previous year. The whole gang is happy until, before a surprise birthday party for Joey, she finds out that Dawson had a Girlfriend during their brief romance. Her discovery ruins the night, and gives the episode a heart-breaking ending, once again the pair decide to go their separate ways.

Episode 106

"The Importance of Not Being Too Earnest" ***
-- Trying to get closure from her recent situation with Dawson, Joey sends an email, which she accidentally sends to everyone on campus instead of Dawson. The consequences of her mistake follow her around for the remainder of the episode. Pacey begins his career selling stocks, and learns a very hard lesson about the business. Jack makes it blatantly obvious to Professor Freeman, that he is interested in the older and married prof. The show concludes with Dawson starring blankly at his computer.

Episode 107
"'instant karma!" ** 1/2
-- Coincidence results in the confrontation between Joey, Dawson, and the other women, on the set and ends with Dawson's job being placed in jeopardy. To spite Dawson, Joey kisses Eddie which is the scene placed in the teasers, Eddie calls Joey on it and the result is anti-climax. Audrey goes on a drinking binge at a college party to spite Pacey because of differences resulting from his new job. In a compromised position Audrey almost allows a guy to take advantage of her. Jen comes to her rescue. Professor Freeman makes an advance towards Jack, which has Jack second-guess his feelings for the professor.

Episode 108
"The Impostors" ***
-- An executive producer arrives on set to investigate why "Wicked Dead" is running over budget and running into time delays. Dawson's advice saves the production and Natasha job, which was deemed inappropriate for the role. Audrey is asked to join Emma's band and to her dismay Pacey fails to show up to her first gig, signs that their relationship is nearing its end. During a classroom confrontation with the professor Joey discovers that Eddie isn't really a student. Jack confronts Professor Freeman about an unfair grade on a paper, Jack suspects that the grade is influenced their previous confrontation.

Episode 109
"Living Dead Girl" ** 1/2
-- Dawson and Todd put together Halloween party on the set of "Wicked Dead", Dawson is prayed upon for a Halloween prank when he thinks he sees the ghost of a legendary film actress who was strangled to death on the same stage. Pacey and Audrey’s relationship’s future is mulled over, and Eddie and Joey baby-sit Professor Heston's daughter.

Episode 110
"Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell" ***
-- Audrey loads up before her big performance and causes an argument between Joey and Eddie, CJ suspects Audrey might be depressed. Pacey meets a beautiful woman while on a trip to New Orleans celebrating his performance on the entry exam; his new job comes into question when he discovers that she is a prostitute. Professor Freemen tells Jack that he is leaving, asks Jack if they have any chance at reconciliation.

Episode 111
"Spiderwebs" ***
-- Dawson provides the gang with tickets to see No Doubt, Dawson's and Natasha's first date does not go as smoothly as planned. Joey forgets the tickets, she and Eddie sneak in to see the band. Jen invites CJ, but he has a confrontation with Pacey concerning his sexual history with Audrey.

Episode 112 "Everything Put Together Falls Apart" ***
-- Natasha directs her attention to a new guy; who is an actor on the set, resulting in a very jealous Dawson. Joey spends the night at Eddie's apartment and sleeps in, missing her exam. Pacey and Emma begin to kindle a romance at Pacey's office party.

Episode 113
"Merry Mayhem" ** 1/2
-- Dawson and his mother throw a Christmas party in Capeside and invite the whole gang. Relationship troubles arise between Dawson and Natasha because of her involvement with another man. Joey's relationship with Eddie is tested after a confrontation with her father. Pacey return with expense items, in an attempt to impress family and friends in Capeside. Audrey gets wastes and drives her car into Dawson's house. Jen spends her holidays consoling Grams about her failed romance.

Episode 114
"Day Out of Days" ** -- In L.A. Dawson has an ethical dilemma of whether or not he should agree to re-shoot elements of Todd's movie. Pacey puts her growing career in jeopardy to spend time with new flame Emma. Joey returns to Boston to find out that Eddie is missing. C.J. trains Jen to become a counsellor. Audrey, still spiraling, returns to L.A. to party with old friends.

Episode 115
"All the Right Moves" *** -- Joey follows Eddie to his family home where they face up to their true emotions and the obstacles they must overcome to be together. Back in Boston, Pacey is invited to an exclusive party where he receives a promotion and is recruited to be part of a special project but is tipped off that the project maybe not be ethical. Audrey returns from Los Angeles and is welcomed back into the band, but blows her chances by getting drunk just before taking the stage.

Episode 116
"Rock Bottom" ***
-- Dawson faces difficulty while directing re-shoots on Todd's film, his authority slowly diminishes after Natasha refuses to do a scene. Joey who is having a hard time saying good-bye to Eddie, convinces Eddie that they should drive spiraling Audrey to a rehab clinic in L.A. Joey and Eddie contemplate the future, as Audrey hits rock bottom during the journey. Jen and C.J. begin talking about relationships and end up setting Grams up on a blind date with C.J.'s Uncle.

Episode 117
"Clean and Sober" ** 1/2
-- Dawson goes to visit Audrey at her rehab clinic, while he is there is notices a big time producer and follows her into a therapy session. Back in Boston, Pacey throws a big party to commemorate his recent successes. Joey gets a little too involved in the party and surprises Pacey and with a lengthy kiss during a game of spin the bottle. Meanwhile, Jen catches C.J., who is a recovering alcoholic with a drink. Jack agrees to marry Emma in order for her to get a green card and stay in the country.

Episode 118
"Castaways" ***
-- On the way home from a business party, Pacey and Joey make an unexpected stop at a local Kmart, and are accidentally locked in when they fail to leave after closing. Locked in together for the entire night they play in the toy department, dance in the electronics department and talk about their lives, opening the door to a renewed romance.

Episode 119
"That Was Then" *** 1/4
-- Joey and Pacey contemplate their future together. Their time together is cut short when Pacey learns that is father has fallen ill and his leaves for Capeside. Joey agrees to baby-sit Professor Heston's daughter who reminds Joey what being a teenager in love is like. Pacey is not the only gang member back in Capeside as Dawson returns to Capeside high school as a guest speaker in a film class. He contemplates his fledging creativity.

Episode 120
Sex and Violence" ***
-- Joey is coerced into becoming Pacey's secretary during her break. They are forced to reconsider their arrangements as problems develop over the course of her first day. Pacey fires Joey, admitting he is too attracted to her to get any work done, leading to passionate kissing and suggestions of more. Joey, leaving for Pacey's apartment is surprised to see that Eddie has returned to Boston. Dawson sells his idea for a coming-of-age movie to his studio, but when the studio wants to change the movie to a teen sex film, he decides not to take part in the project. During a conversation that would give any other grandmother a heart-attack, plays peacemaker between feuding Jen and C.J.

Episode 121
"Love Bites" ** 1/2
-- Jen learns that Grams health is poor as she has developed breast cancer. Eddie reveals to Joey that he has returned to take her back with him. Pacey and Joey chaperone Harley's school dance. Finally, Dawson convinces Pacey to invest his life savings in hopes of raising enough money to fund his next film.

Episode 122
"Lovelines" ** 1/2
-- Dr. Drew and Adam exhibit Joey and Eddie's emotional and sexual relationship on the air during a counseling fundraiser. Moreover, Jack and David's relationship woes are also brought to the front. Audrey returns to Boston, sober.

Episode 123
"Catch-22" ***
-- His superiors order Pacey to sell the stock that he has invested his and Dawson's life savings into. Consequently, Pacey becomes suspected of insider trading, confronts his boss, losing his job and both his and Dawson's savings forever. Eddie offers Joey a trip to Europe, but his surprise brings their relationship into question, subsequently they part ways for good.

Episode 124
"Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road" *** 1/2
-- The Gang returns to Capeside, each with slightly different perspective. Pacey returns to give Dawson that bad news and put their friendship in further turmoil. Joey returns to Capeside and finds Dawson's script waiting for her. Dawson'; script is for his next film, it showcases the relationships between the three friends. Grams is confronted by friends and family, and her secret about her condition is let out.

Episode 125
"Joey Potter and Capeside Redemption" ***
-- After losing all his savings, Dawson all but gives up on his dreams of producing his film. To his surprise, Joey gets the old group back to Capeside in order to save Dawson's dream. Joey also attempts to reunite the feuding Dawson and Pacey, resulting in Pacey raising money for the film and promises of a rekindling friendship between the two. Grams, Jen and Jack leave the gang and Capeside to New York, where Grams will undergo therapy. The episode concludes with Joey realizing her dream of visiting Paris.

Episodes 126 + 127
"All Good things Must Come to an End" ****
-- Five years after the previous episode, finds the gang reuniting in order to celebrate a wedding between Dawson's Mother and Her new Husband. Dawson has been living in Los Angeles producing a television series based on the movie; Joey is a successful book editor living in New York in a troubled relationship with her boyfriend; Pacey is the owner of the Ice House which was formally owned by Joey's family; Jen is a single mother living with Grams and managing an art gallery in New York and Jack is a teacher at Capeside High and is in a relationship with Pacey's older brother. After the wedding that gang quickly learns that Jen is terminally ill. The Episode and Series concludes with Jen's tragic death, Joey choosing Pacey over Dawson, and Dawson realizing his dreams of meeting Spielberg. The show ends with the three original friends, their friendships have been forever changed, but it continues to thrive.
