“Clarice, can you pass me my brush please?” I asked while straightening my dress. We were in Europe and we were getting ready to go to the MTV Europe Awards. Man! Were we excited! I was wearing this cool, white shimery gown, with pretty butterflies all over it. Clarice wore a princess-style gown, that had a tight bodice, but was full and puffy from the hips down.
As I put my tiara on, the boys came into the room. Brian whistled. “Wow! You girls sure look nice!” Brian said. The rest of the guys stood there in awe. I grabbed my purse and took one last glance in the mirror.“Come on Clarice! Let’s jet!” I called out to her. We piled into a long, shiney limo and drove towards the stadium. I sat beside Nick and Clarice sat across from us with AJ. Nick leaned toward me and kissed me lightly on the forehead and whispered “You look fabulous.” I blushed and smiled back. “You dont look too bad yourself, handsome!” I grinned back. I looked at the rest of the boys. Wow. They looked so cute all dressed up.
AJ was wearing a long tan jacket over a black shirt and black pants. Howie was wearing a long black jacket with red collars and cuffs. I have to say that he looked incredibly sweet all dressed up! Kevin was all in black and he looked really mysterious, yet gorgeous. Brian wore a brown leather jacket over a black shirt and black pants. And Nick. Wow. He looked FINE with a comfy black jacket and black pants and shirt. His hair was slicked back and he looked very mature. He looked perfect.
Not too long, we arrived at the awards and we stepped out. Paparazzi, went WILD. Cameras flashed and we heard people shouting at us. I heard screams and I saw that there were a couple of fans waving and shouting the boys’ names. Nick put his arm around me and we all posed for some pictures. Cameras flashed like mad and I tried my best to keep a smile on my face for all this attention was getting to be too much. Soon, we were escorted to our seats and we made ourselves comfortable.
“Wasn’t that cool?!” Clarice said to me. “All the attention was great!” She beamed.I grinned and said “Yah, it was cool, but I don’t think I could handle it all the time.” More and more people started to fill the stadium and things got noisy. I spotted some cool stars! Madonna, Billie Piper, N Sync, 5ive, Alanis Morrisette, The Moffatts, Spice Girls, and even Jackie Chan. Wow! I was getting star struck. Will Smith sat infront of us and we were chatting about his new upcoming movie. It sounded cool! The show started.
Mariah Carey was the hostess along with Robbie Williams. 5ive opened the show with a bang. Wow. It was great! With fire, lights, the whole works. They performed, “When The Lights Go Out” and they blew the roof off. Those guys sure know how to dance!! The first award was for best male artist. Eagle Eye Cherry won. He didn’t sit too far from us and he got up to accept his award. Wow. This was so cool!Halfway into the award show, it was time to get hopeful. BSB were nominated for best international group. They were against Hanson, 5ive, The Moffatts and B*Witched. Natalie Imbruglia and Bryan Adams came out to present the award. While they showed the nominees, I sat there, fingers crossed, whispering, “Please please please please please please.”
“And the winner is.........BACKSTREET BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I jumped up and gave all the guys a hug!! Woo hoo!!! They won!! They won!! People all around us were clapping and cheering. AJ swept Clarice up and gave her a big kiss. Nick pulled me close and gave me a long, deep kiss. Right before he left to go accept his award, he said “This is for you honey.” I smiled.“Wooo!!!” Brian said while on stage. “Um..thanks to all of you who voted for us and made this happen. Thanks you guys!!”
“I want to thank all the people that have made BSB possible! Everyone at Jive, BMG, all our supports, we love you!” Howie said.Kevin was next. “A big shout out to Fatima Robinson! She’s the one who teaches us these cool moves, and I’d just like to say, WE LOVE YOU GIRL!!”
“WASSUUUUUUUP?!” AJ called out. People screamed. “First of all, I would like to thank all of the fans, for supporting us so much, and most of all, I would love to thank my baby, Clarice for loving me and being there for me!” I looked over at Clarice. The girl was practically balling! She was laughing and crying and I went over to give her a big hug.Nick went up to the mike, with screams from above from the fans and said “Well, I dont have much to say, except; Lucy, I care so much about you. I want to thank you for giving me the love I need and supporting me and the Backstreet Boys. You are the best!” Nick said starring straight at me. The boys exited the stage and Mariah introduced the next preformer, Billie Piper.
Between the commercial break, the boys were backstage, getting ready for their preformance. They were about to preform ‘Everybody and As Long As You Love Me.’ The boys came out from behind the curtains and were wearing their usual gear for the song, ‘Everybody’. You know, the ‘pirate’ looking get up. They sang about half of the song and they broke into As Long As You Love Me. Dancers came out and did some routines to distract viewers when the BSB changed quickly. They came back out, wearing all white and did an awesome job singing their smash hit. The dancing was awesome too! The chair routine was awesome too! They looked so cute! When they were done, the crowds just went wild.
After BSB, the guys of N Sync presented an award. “Psst, hey! Doesn’t Justin just look HOT?!!!” whispered Clarice.“What are you thinking girl?! You are with AJ here!!! You arent supposed to look at other guys LIKE THAT!!!” I hissed back.
“What!? Now I am not allowed to look at other guys? Sheesh, its not like I am married.” Clarice said.I sighed. “Well, dont talk now, but the boys are coming, so hush.” I said right before AJ came towards us. He kissed Clarice lightly on the forehead when he got over to her. Man, AJ seems to really like her. I dont want him to get hurt. I knew Clarice is like that. I mean, her wandering eye hurt her last boyfriend really badly. She nearly cheated on him. I sighed.
“Whats the matter hun?” Nick said to me when he got to his seat. He must have seen my worried expression.“Oh...its nothing really.” I answered. Suddenly, a loud bang emitted from the stage. It was Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’! Nick grabbed my hand and squeezed tightly. He looked over at me and while Celine sang, Nick whispered the words to me. I was litterally about to cry. I mean, never, has anyone done something as sweet as this to me. Halfway through the song, I gave him a long hug and kissed him. I smiled and he brushed a stray hair away. Our foreheads were touching and Nick’s hand was on my cheek. Wow. This was such a perfect moment. But the applause from the audience made us jump apart. I smiled sweetly and Nick mouthed the words ‘I love you’ to me. Wow. I grinned the HUGEST grin ever in my life and mouthed back, “I love you too.” Tonight was the most perfect night.
When the song ended, I looked over at AJ and Clarice, but only to see AJ slumped in his chair. Clarice was no where to be seen. “I wonder where Clarice is Nick?” I asked outloud. Nick scanned the area and couldnt find her.“Maybe she went to the bathroom or something?” He suggested. I thought about what she had said about Justin. ‘I really hope she didnt run off with him.’ I turned around to where N Sync was sitting to check if Justin was still in his seat. He wasnt. ‘Uh oh.’
“Ok, maybe its a coincidence. Clarice is so happy with AJ, she wouldnt leave now! Yah, thats it.” I said to myself. I sat through the rest of the awards worrying about Clarice, when right at the very end of the show, Clarice finally came back.“WHERE IN HELL WERE YOU?!?!” I hissed when she trampled us trying to get to her seat.
“I’ll tell you later.” she said grinning. ‘OMG, I cant believe it! She DID run off with Justin?!! How DARE she?!” I thought to myself, but I quickly doubted my thoughts. ‘Maybe she met like, Leonardo DiCaprio and was so engrossed in their convo, that she forgot the time? Maybe thats it...’The show finally ended and we all decided to go to Mariah Carey’s after party. Wow. It was so cool! It was in this elegant house, with a water fountain and a swimming pool. It was gorgeous! We all mingled with stars like, 5ive, Spice Girls, B*Witched, Chris Rock, Jennifer Love Hewitt and even Elton John. It was unbelievable! A chance of a life time! We ran into N Sync and the boys introduced us.
“This is Lucy, my sweetie pie, hehe.” Nick said as he lightly kissed my forehead.“This is Clarice, MY girl.” AJ said firmly and put his arm around her shoulders. I guess AJ sensed that Justin and Clarice might have had something starting. He also gave Justin a look that said ‘Get-away-from-her-or-I-will-beat-your-@ss’ While me and Nick chatted with Chris *he is so halarious* Clarice was totally flirting with Justin. And AJ did NOT look too happy. He was with Howie and Kevin talking to JC about some business, but he kept looking up at Clarice, sort of checking up on her.
Clarice looked in my direction, and I mouthed the words, ‘WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!’ She shrugged and turned back around to Justin.After hours of partying, it was time to go back and get some sleep. We all piled back into a limo and we cruised back to the hotel. I said goodbye to the guys and headed to my room. I kicked off my shoes and plopped down in my bed. Suddenly, I heard voices outside the door. It was AJ and Clarice. And AJ sounded pretty mad.
“What do you think you are doing?” AJ asked shrilly.“I’m just being friendly. I dont understand why you are so mad. I mean, I can talk to others cant I? You are taking this totally the wrong way!” Clarice answered. “Look, I am tired, sore and I really dont want to talk about this right now ok?”
“Fine....Look, I want you to know that I really do care about you and I dont want to loose you. And I want to work this out. Can we talk tommorow?” AJ asked.
“Uh, sure...” Clarice answered.“Ok, well, talk to you tommorow then.” AJ said, walking back towards his room. Clarice opened the door and saw me sitting there on my bed. “You heard everything didnt you?” She asked.
“Yeah. Look Clarice, I am not sure what you are doing, but dont you like AJ? Arent you super happy with him?” I asked.
“Of course I am happy with him! I mean, he is so great to me! Hes the best boyfriend I have ever had!”“So why are you all over Justin!?” I asked.
“All over? What are you talking about all over?! I was just talking to him!” Clarice argued.“What?? Oh, you dont call this ‘all over’?” ‘Oh, JUSTIN, hehe, you are too funny!’ I giggled, wrapping my arm around Clarice, acting as Clarice had towards Justin.
“Well, I do think he is cute...and very funny and sweet!” Clarice answered.“Yah, but that doesnt mean you can go and flirt like mad with him. You really hurt AJ today. You should have seen the look on his face when you were with Justin.”
“Well, I dont think its a big deal. I mean, he makes it sound like I am HIS, and that I cant do anything, go anywhere with someone else.” “Well, no, but he really cares about you. And like he said, he doesnt want to loose you. But when you test his love for you like this, he will get jealous. I mean, if AJ went out and found some other girl, that was cute, funny and very sweet, flirted with her the same way you did with Justin, and he did it right infront of your face, wouldnt you be mad?” I asked.“Well, of course...” Clarice answered. “Uh, look, I am really tired and I dont want to talk about this right now ok? Lets just drop it until tommorow ok?”
“Um...well, if you really want to. Ok then. But promise me you wont hurt AJ again like you did tonight?” I asked.“Sure, whatever.” Clarice answered walking to the bathroom.
I sighed. I didnt think Clarice was telling the truth....
