Backstreet Boys Plan World Premiere Of New Video

Backstreet Boys fans starved for a fresh glimpse of the fellas will soon be appeased. The Boys' new video, "I Want It That Way," will make its world premiere on May 5 on MTV's "Total Request Live." The video will be the group's first from its upcoming album "Millennium" and will give fans their first taste of new material since the group's breakthrough, 1997's "Backstreet Boys," which sold more than 10 million copies. The single hit radio recently, and the band shot the video in Los Angeles three weeks ago with director Wayne Isham (the man behind Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca," 98 Degrees' "The Hardest Thing," and, back in the day, Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home"). As we previously reported, the Boys took to Los Angeles International Airport to shoot the clip, which promises to be heavy with performance footage (see "Backstreet Boys Wrap New Video As Kevin Spreads 'Millennium' Fever"). The video premiere will be the first in a string of Backstreet MTV appearances, which will include "Backstreet Boys Favorite Videos," turns on "TRL," and a live concert special titled "Backstreet Boys Live." The Backstreet avalanche will flow throughout May with the group's many appearances coming before "Millennium" hits stores on May 18.

The Disney In Concert special scheduled for May 11'th at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City is "by invitation only". Apparently, the 1,800 tickets will be given away to fans by Jive and probably local radio stations and MTV.

Here are some pictures that COULD be used on the BSB cd. It is not confirmed.

Winterland, the company responsible for BSB merchandising served RockStarBabies with a cease and desist order approx. 2 weeks ago. Apparently, they were not licensed to sell BSB beanies. It has been alleged that they didn't even have a product to sell and were ripping off young fans of the Backstreet Boys, Hanson and Spice Girls to name a few.

Their website at http://www.rockstarbabies.com was shut down on Feb 22, '99.

The following is an article that they sent to several BSB websites asking them to advertise for them:

According to Winterland, the company responsible for official BSB merchandise, this outfit is NOT licensed to sell BSB Beanies.

Backstreet Boys Use Choir for Album

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The Backstreet Boys recruited some local talent to sing backup on the youthful heartthrobs' next album, ``Millennium.'' Brian Littrell, a member of the quintet and a 1994 graduate of Tates Creek High School, was home Monday to direct 45 local choral students for the song ``Perfect Fan.''

The tune was written for Littrell's mother, and he said using the choir - made up mostly of current or former Tates Creek students - was a gesture of appreciation toward choir teacher Barry Turner, who encouraged Littrell to try for a singing career.

``I never really pictured myself to be a singer before that,'' he said. The Backstreet Boys' current self-titled album has been on Billboard's top album list for 77 weeks. Their hits include ``Quit Playing Games (With My Heart).''
