“Justin, how many times do I have to tell you that I DO NOT like you?! Please stay away from me and AJ! I dont want you ruining things again!” Clarice yelled into the phone before slamming the phone down, cutting Justin off. That was the 5th time Justin had called her that day.
“Gosh Clarice...I never thought Justin would be so scary. I even though he was the cutest N Syncer! I dont know what you could do...” As much as I wanted to help out Clarice, I had no idea on what she could do.
“I cant tell AJ either, cause then he’d get real mad. And who knows who he will get mad at? Me? Justin? Himself? I dont want to cause another big fight..” Clarice confided.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. “Come in.” I said. AJ poked his head in the room. “Sorry to interrupt you girls, but we gotta get to the MTV studios for that Boy Band Bash they are having. Are you two coming?” He asked. I looked at Clarice. She looked as if all her problems had disappeared at the sight of AJ. “Sure!” she chirped. She jumped up and I got up from where I was sitting. “Ok, you make yourselves all pretty and I’ll come back in a few to pick you up!” And with that, AJ closed the door and we got ready.
“Do you think N Sync will be there?” Clarice asked me before it was time to go. “I dunno. Nick told me a lot of groups would be there. 98 Degrees, Take5, The Moffatts, C-Note, and 5ive were expected to appear. So I don’t really think so....and besides, arent N Sync still on tour? They are supposed to be in Canada now right?” I replied. Clarice thought for a bit. “You know,” Clarice started with a new confidence, “I think you are right! Phew! Now that I know Justin wont be there, I can relax-for a while.” Clarice frowned. “If Justin makes another move, I’ll be the FIRST to kick him in the butt and tell him to BACK OFF!” I said. Clarice laughed and said “Thanks. I know I can count on you!”
“Hi guys, so whats up with the personal lives? I hear two of you have steady girlfriends?” The BSB were already in the middle of their fan conference. Fans were asking them all kinds of questions, and this one popped up. The boys looked uncomfortably at each other. Howie answered, “Well, at the moment, I do not have a girlfriend, maybe one of you can be.” He said looking at some fans and winked. *Screams fill MTV* We could also hear screams outside. Tons of fans lined up around MTV studios and were watching the fan conferences of various bands on big screens. There were various fans. BSB ones, fans of 5ive, 98 Degrees, young and old!
Nick spoke up. “Well, I just have to say the rumors about me and a girl named Lucy are true. We are going out and we are incredibly happy together.” The studio quickly filled with noisy chatter. The fans haven’t expected such a confession. “Yah, I have to confess too. I am head over heels in love with Clarice. She is my best friend and I love her to death!”
Some fans protested by booing, but AJ held up his hand, asking for silence. “I’m not sure how to say this but, I understand that some of you may be upset, but think about it. If you were a true Backstreet Boys fan, wouldn’t you want us to be happy? And as of now, we are happy as we ever could be, and if you dont like that, well, then I dont think you are much of a Backstreet Boys fan.” After saying that, many applauded and cheered. Even the VJ clapped.
Clarice and I stayed backstage while all of this was going on. We werent allowed out yet. The guards said that when all the groups go out to preform, we could join the party. I was talking to Tilky from Take5. I was amazed. He is my fave Take5 and I had never met him before. He was really sweet! While I chatted with Tilky, Clarice was joking around with the guys from 5ive. In between our conversation, we were interrupted by a guy with a head set on. He told us that Take5 were up next and that Tilky should get ready. Tilky nodded and excused himself. I smiled and said “Well, its nice talking to you! Maybe we can chat more after the show!” He replied, “sure, that sounds great!” He smiled and sauntered off.
The Backstreet Boys came back into the celebrity filled room. I was greeted by Nick with kisses. “Hi sweetie, I missed you!” I whispered. Nick smiled coyly and murmured “I missed you too.” He put his arm around my waist and led me towards the rest of the boys.
“How come I see you two, you guys are always cuddling!?” B-Rok said with his eyes wide. Laughing, Nick gave a defensive look and playfully punched Brian in the arm. Brian pretended to stagger and fall from the blow, causing all of us to crack up. Suddenly, from behind us, a noisy bunch entered the backstage area. I turned around. To my surprize, it was N Sync. From the corner of my eye, I could see Clarice shocked as much as I was, but also with a mix of fear. Justin spotted Clarice and came towards us. Clarice’s shoulders sank as she feared the worst.
“Nice to see you again.” Justin said with a cheeky grin. He looked up at AJ, and I could he was about to scowl, but said, “Nice to see you too.” And without waiting for an answer, Justin strolled off.
“I really do not like that guy.” Kevin quipped. “He’s got some much attitude.” All of the boys look at Justin as he greeted some people not too far off. They all shook their head and frowned in disgust. “Those are the types in the industry that need to really learn what respect is.” Howie said. I looked over at Clarice. She was nervously chewing at her lip, waiting for AJ’s response. AJ said nothing, instead, he took Clarice’s hand and led her away.
“What’s the matter hun?” Nick said with a concerned look on his face. “Oh. . . its nothing really. I just dont understand how creepy Justin is. I always thought he would be a nice guy.” I explained. “I dont know either. But lots of rumors about how he treated his last girlfriend was bad.” Nick replied. “What?!” I was amazed by this new bit of news. “Tell me!!” I urged. Nick sighed. “He stalked her after she broke up with him. She wanted space.” Nick shook his head. I was in disbelief. My eyebrows furrowed together and I bit my lip. “Lets not talk about him ok? He creeps me out.” I shuddered. From the corner of my eye, I can see Kevin coming towards us. “Hey, its time to get back out there. They’re going to do this big group thing.” Kevin said. Nick nodded. “Sure, I’ll be right out.” He gave my hand a quick squeeze, kissed me on the cheek and joined the rest of the guys out in the studio.
A nice crew person came up to me seeing that I was sitting alone reading a magazine and offered to escort me to an empty seat where I could watch. I smiled and thanked him for doing so. On the way there, the guy *who was about my age* asked if I was really Nick Carter’s girlfriend. “Yeah.” I answered. He smiled and said “I wish I had such good luck like you to hook up with a star! What I will DO to get Britney Spears!” “Why would you like such a fake like her?!” I replied. He sighed and said “But she’s sooo hot!” I rolled my eyes, laughed and took my seat.
I saw some whisper my name to the right of me and I turned to see who it was. It was Clarice. I squeezed through the crowed and joined her. Clarice was grinning ear to ear and I asked her why she was so happy. She smiled widely and said, “Oh, its just me and AJ. We patched things up by talking about it and well, I am just too happy at what he said!” “And...what did he say!?” I asked. “Well, he was so sweet!” Clarice started. “He said that no matter what happens, he will always love me. No matter how big of a jerk Justin is, he will always love me. He wont let anything come between us!!” She gushed. “Awe, he is so sweet!! Wow!” I said. “So how are you and Nick?” Clarice asked. “Not bad! He is still a sweetie and a cutie, and I love him just as much! If not, even MORE!” I exclaimed.
We sat back and enjoyed the rest of the interview. It was great. All the bands were really relaxed and had a lot of fun! I was happy to see everyone finally having fun again.
Later that night, Nick, Brian and I, joined JC and Justin of N SYNC for dinner! It wasnt anything elaborate, we went to Mickey D’s!! Howie and Kevin went to a club and Clarice and AJ went sightseeing. Me and the guys ordered this HUGE meal and we couldnt finish it! “Man, I am soo full!” Brian exclaimed. “I cant finish the rest of this!” Nick said. “Why dont we bring it back to AJ and Clarice? I bet they are hungry!” I exclaimed. “And AJ loves anything McDonalds!” “Sure, I’ll pack it up ok?” Justin exclaimed. And with that, Justin went and put the rest of the burgers in a bag. The security gaurds advised us that we should get going, before any more people come in. We nodded and decided to leave. “Ok, you guys go first, I want to say good bye to some fans over there.” Justin said. “Sure,” we all answered and started to leave the restaraunt. A couple of minutes later, Justin came running back and handed me the bag of food. Here, take this and give it to AJ for me ok!?” He asked. “Sure! I’ll do that for you!” I exclaimed.
Back at the hotel, I noticed Clarice and AJ had already gotten back. “Hey, guys! How was the night out in town?!” I asked. “Man, it was killer! You should have been there!!” AJ said excitedly. “You and Nick should go out alone one night too!” He suggested. “Yah, that would be great! Maybe tommorow or something!?” I replied. “Oh! Here, you better take this before it gets any colder! We couldnt finish everything from McDonalds so we decided to bring some back for you!” I said handing him the paper bag. “Oh, guys! Thanks!! I am starving too!” AJ started. “Claire, you want some?” AJ said digging through the bag. “No thanks hun! I will be fine eating this ice cream here!” She replied. “Well, I will leave you two alone and find my Nicky!” I said and slipped out of the room.
As soon as I closed the door, I saw Nick coming towards me. I noticed he had just taken a shower and he smelled sooo good. He was wearing his shorts and a tight white shirt and wow, he looked awesome! He came up to me and wrapped his arms around me tight. “Mm, you smell so good!” I said as I kissed him lightly on the cheek. “Thanks babe!” He said shyly. He lowered his hand to the small of my back and started to tickle me. “Eeeee! Dont!!” I squealed and tried to escape from his tickling. But he was too strong! I was laughing so hard, all the while trying to free myself, and Nick just kept tickling! The both of us lost our footing and toppled onto the floor. Nick finally loosened his grip and burst out laughing. I pretened to beat him up and he pretened to be wounded and lay on the floor. I just stared at him laying there, so peaceful. He opened his eyes and cupped my face in his hand. “Oh Lucy, I love you so much. I want you to know that. I have never had as much fun with anyone and you have brought out the best in me.” He paused and said, “I love you.” I grinned and I bent down for a kiss. After our long embrace, I looked him in the eye and said, “I love you too, Nick.”
