The Educational part of the Walt Disney World College Program provided an opportunity to learn about
the Disney Company as well provided an excellent opportunity to meet other College Program participants.
1. Walt Disney World Traditions
Lots of people considered the two days of tradtions to be boring, but
when anyone pays me to go to Disney World, I couldn't complain.
2. Communicating With Style
In this semenar we learned what personality style we were and how
we interacted with other styles. I was a "C" this time around.
3. Understanding Differences & Coping With Cultural Change
It was interesting to learn more about differences, and find out more
about cultural change, since in a way we were in sort of a fishbowl
experiement ourselves.
4. Maximizing People Through Leadership Flexibility
I was tought that to have greater success you can't always get your
way, you have to have some degree of flexibility.
5. The Ever-Changing World of Business
Here it was interesting to kmow of all that Disney went through to
become the company it is today.
6. Self-directed Studies
No matter what you chose it's not going to be fun, so just get it
done with asap, avoid the long lines.
7. Conversation With...
We were able to chose a group meeting with someone of a higher
status in WDW. I chose to go to the Animation seminar, where we
met James Paris. James did some of the work in Mulan.
8. Portfolios
I recommend taking the few extra hours and completing your portfolio.
These days, mine serves as a good scrapbook, plus it's the only way
to get the elusive Ductorate.
