Jackie's not eating and not
talking, and rushing to finish the movie.
Jackie's lost his mother. During the filming of "Highbinders" in
Thailand, Jackie has found out 2 days ago that his mother has died in bed. This
is hurting him so much that he is refusing to eat. His manager, Willie Chan, has
rushed over to Australia last night and is comforting Jackie's dad and handling
the funeral.
The set of "Highbinders" was as serious as ice, Jackie filmed as usual
but off-cameras, he is troubled. Only Sammo Hung, and Gordan Chan dared to say a
few words with him, other workers didn't know what went on, but just walked
away. By evening, Ken Lo asked Jackie to eat dinner with him but Jackie simply
refused and said no, disregarding everybody & went back to his room.
Yesterday on the set of the movie, Jackie still didnt' talk much and only cared
to finish the movie. His sad facial expressions kept the crew confused, and
didn't know how to comfort him thru this. Ken Lo said that "watching him so
strict, and sitting there doing nothing. he looked really sad, we didn't know
what to do to comfort him".
Jackie's relationship with his parents has always been very good, his mother
suffered alot during the time she was pregnant with him because he had to be
born 3 months after the estimated time he was supposed to be born but finally,
his mother gave birth to Jackie through a cesarean section. According to
Jackie's autobiography, he stated "My mother is the best mom in the world.
She has devoted her entire to her child and her husband. Even at a time where I
can afford to buy her anything, she would still wear the clothes from 40 years
ago." Years ago, Jackie's dad was a chef in an embassy and his mom was a
launder, the work was extremely hard until Jackie was able to afford them a
better living. In the past few years, his mother was getting very old. Jackie's
half-sister (same mother, different father) has accompanied Lily Chan (jackie's
mom). Last year, there was news about her declining health but luckily, she was
alright. Even though, Jackie was psychologically prepared for this to happen,
but he was still very hurt about his mother's death.
The funeral will be in June in Australia. Even though, he's on a tight schedule
with "Highbinders" , according to Jackie, his work has been delayed.
he'll be in Australia in the next 2 days
