Tasha Biering as "Heather"                        Amy R. Swaim as "Rose"

Head Cheerleader, Dead Cheerleader is the new film from Jeff Miller, co-producer of Hellblock 13 and Freakshow.

Here's some copy from the official presskit:

“It’s the night before the big rivalry football game between two area high schools… and someone has a game plan of their own. They are killing off the cheerleaders, as well as anyone else who gets in their way.
Cheerleading captain Heather Connelly (TASHA BIERING) is menaced by a terrifying phone caller as the sleepy little town of Briars Creek is stalked by a mysterious killer – or killers. Who is the guilty party? Heather’s boyfriend Danny? Ex-boyfriend Chris? The local bum with a mysterious past? The creepy football coach? Perhaps the good ol’ boy sheriff who may know more than he cares to let on? And just what is the motive behind the bizarre murders?
Sexy DEBBIE ROCHON (Hellblock 13, American Nightmare) stars as Heather’s tantalizing cheerleading coach who just may hold the key to some secrets of her own in this suspenseful – and funny – horror thriller in the vein of Scream that will keep you guessing until the very end!
So lock your doors and get Caller I.D. After tonight, the sleepy little town of Briars Creek will never be the same!"

Head Cheerleader, Dead Cheerleader is a “Scream meets Clerks” type of film, combining suspenseful horror with tongue-in-cheek, raunchy humor. Writer/producer/director Jeff Miller wrote the script out of affection for the Scream films and classic ‘70s and ‘80s horror films such as Halloween, Black Christmas, and When a Stranger Calls. He wanted to do a similar film—a claustrophobic thriller – but more contemporary and with more eccentric twists.

The movie was shot entirely in South Carolina. Miller used some fresh faces as well as several actors he had worked with before on Freakshow and Hellblock 13. Debbie Rochon was flown down from New York to play Coach Elaine Riley. Frequent Miller collaborator Michael R. Smith returned to do special FX. Hard rockers Isabelle’s Gift (who have opened for The Bloodhound Gang and Ace Frehley), hard-techno band Gloss, goth band The Cruxshadows, and punkabilly band Hick’ry Hawkins and Sidemeat, among others, provided songs, while composer Kirk Luther ( a member of the ‘60s band The Ohio Express, responsible for such hits as “Yummy Yummy Yummy” and “Chewy Chewy”) did the original score. Shooting wrapped in February 2000. Post-Production work was done in Portland, OR and Columbia, SC.
