OUTPOST 108

As The GRYPHON prepares to depart and investigate the newly discovered
wormhole, the subspace tunnel suddenly opens revealing a ship. The
Ship
arrives with shields raised, creating a moment of tension for Qoe and
Firekey. it reveals itself to be from a race of travellers known as
the
Yulinope.

At Outpost 108 Halifax, the CEO arrives late for his duty shift. As
the message from the ship arrives, he finds himself able to
understand
it without the help of the universal translator, has he encountered
this
race before? This seems impossible, the wormhole opens on another
galaxy. As if this mystery were not enough the Yulinope ship suddenly
explodes, sensors reveal that it was destroyed by a blast from an
almost
antiquated Federation phaser array.

Such a mystery cannot go unsolved, beaming the rest of the crew
aboard, the Gryphon sets a course for the wormhole.

USS ARTEMIS

Some time after initial communications with the telepathically aware
Saphusian race. The saphusians contact their home world and discuss
the
apparrently advanced technology of the federation then six members of
the alien ship beam over to the USS ARTEMIS for first contact.

The six aliens; Chief Navigator Jamoora Ni Hinalaaru, Oranda Hifaasu,
Oranda Staraun, Oranda Olymman, Oranda Jetsu, and Oranda Lofran greet
some of the officers of the ARTEMIS. During which time the telepathic
command is given for the saphusians to begin studying the USS ARTEMIS
with hidden cameras in the large brass colored helmets each of the
alien crew wears. The saphusians are given a brief tour on the way to
the ARTEMIS's observation lounge where they are greeted by the rest of
the ship's officers.

During the reception in the observation lounge Kate Brown conversing
with one of the aliens apparently creates some friction as a saphusian
mistakes her comments about their society and technology being
inferior
to the federation's. The situation is smoothed over without incident.
All the while the saphusians drop hints that joining the federation
with
an exchange of technology would excellent. Later in the reception Kate
Brown and Stark Springs agree to have lunch on one of the Holodecks.
The
remainder of which the two crews discuss topics about their respective
races and at one point the saphusians even manage to program a few of
their beverages into the ship's replicator. Afterwards the saphusians
are given yet another tour of the ship then taken to the transporter
room. On the way the saphusians inquire as to the possible benefits to
joining the federation. Much to their dismay they discover that the
federation maintains a strict policy of non-interference with other
worlds so that they may progress at a more comfortable pace than if
they
federation were to infuse new member worlds with advanced technology.

After the saphusians leave and before Kate goes to meet Stark. The
ship's computer makes an unannounced intrusion into her quarters and
suggests something appropriate to wear to what the computer refers to
as
a "date" and Kate denies even though it has all the elements of.
Stark,
arriving at the holodeck engages on of his programs. one that displays
the scenery of his home world minus the domed base he grew up in. The
computer again appears and talks to Stark but is forced from observing
the holodeck simulation by Stark. Kate arrives and Stark apparently
agrees with the computers choice of garments as the two begin to talk.

On the bridge Commander Marshall greets yet another alien, this time
one of reptillian origin who advises the Commander to break off
relations with the saphusians. Over the coarse of the conversation
with
the reptilian captain of the other ship, Marshall is interrupted then
abducted by the alien of the other ship. The alien ship then attempts
to escape with the kidnapped captain aboard. Lieutenant Commander Paul
Simmons takes command of the ARTEMIS and gives chase while noticing
the
propulsion systems of the second aliens ship matches the technology of
the saphusians. As the ARTEMIS begins to close on the alien ship a
stream of particles is detected which eventually forms a small
wormhole
and allows the alien ship to escape with the captain. Afterwards the
saphusians are contacted and queried about the similarity of
propulsive
technology. The saphusians deny any knowledge of contact with the
abducting aliens and then inform the crew of the ARTEMIS to expect a
high level dignitary from Saphus. The crew then discuss there options
and insights into the deepening intrigue before them. It is discovered
that there is an oddity to the saphusian technology as it seems they
possess advanced technology in some areas and lack any at all in what
apparently is considered related technology. It is decided then that
two
of the ARTEMIS's crew are to beam down to the planet around which the
ARTEMIS was orbiting and steal aboard a saphusian vessel and capture
any
data that might be available

USS HORIZON

The crew of the USS HORIZON familiarize themselves with the current
mission
data. When all questions have been answered, the ship heads towards
the
Gaia Fleet Yards, for the fitting of a new mission module, and then
onto
Vagra 3.

Pol Canon, who visited Vagra 3 in a previous mission, remembers his
experiences with little joy.

Lt. Malaar, feeling restless, visits the holodeck to exercise his
knowledge of Dra'Zof, an ancient Moropa fighting discipline. He
scarcely
has time to begin a workout before he is joined by Lt. Hamelin, and
almost
immediately afterwards by Lt. Canon.

Hamalin and Malaar instantly take opposing sides not only to to the
philosophical principals behind Dra'Zof, but also literally, as
sparring
partners. Canon, naturally, assumes the role of mediator between the
two
officers.

A new Medical Officer, Ens. Trinity Layne comes aboard ship, freshly
transferred from OMEGA. She very quickly is greeted by the captain,
who
introduces her to some of the bridge crew. Tergin asks the enormous
Ensign
Arkanis to show Layne to sickbay. Arkanis does his best not to scare
the
new Ensign out of the ship, and is almost entirely successful.

Layne proceeds to try and make herself at home in the sickbay. In need
of
an assistant, she sets off in search of Dr. T'Salek, who has been
designated as such. She finds the doctor playing chess with the
counselor,
in the Ship's Edge.

After the attachment of the mission pod, and as she is headed for
Vagra 3,
the Horizon is hailed by Commodore McMahon, head of SFSec. In the
communication, which is a private one for Lt. Suven, the XO is
informed of
her dismissal from SFSec. She remains aboard the HORIZON as first
officer,
but without the privileges afforded by the Security Unit of Starfleet.

As Tergin learns of this, his reactions are mixed. Though he now sees
Suven
as someone who could develop into a proper part of the crew, he also
knows
this is not the best turn of events for the Deltan woman. Noticing the
level of emotion transmission coming from his XO, he sends Suven to
acquire
a masking agent from sickbay.

Doing so, Suven reports to the ship's new doctor. The cause of the
emotional leaking turns out to be a virus. As (ill) luck would have
it, one
of the Deltan's blood samples is accidently broken, and the virus is
released into the air vents, exponentially expanding the chances of it
being picked up by someone else.

Lt. Bordak, who comes to sickbay to check on the progress of his
sister, identifies the virus as one that originated on his home
planet.
Suspecting that the said virus was brought aboard by one of his
family,
Brodak explains how the virus, though non-lethal to Tal or Humans,
might
affect the crew in unexpected ways. Further investigation by the CMO
reveals that the virus on the HORIZON is a slightly mutated variant of
the
virus Bordak spoke of.

Meanwhile, Ens. Arkanis takes his security personnel through training
exercises, preparing for the worst at Vagra 3. After an exhaustive
session,
the troops retire to the Ship's Edge, in which they soon become rowdy.

Tergin learns of the virus, and it's apparent spread throughout the
ship.
He is, however, more concerned about the source of the problem;
Bordak's
relatives, who are now making their way to SB OMEGA. Doing as much as
he
can under the circumstances, Tergin and Ambassador Or'Nonya head to
the
Ship's Edge for a drink, and to relax. Instead of this, they find
Arkanis
and his troops, in the middle of a full scale brawl! Tergin quickly
puts an
end to the violence, but not without distributing some of his own, and
not
without locking a few officers in the brig.

As this happens, more side effects of the virus are noticed, this time
in
the holodeck, and of a much less violent nature, as Lt. Hamelin's
vocabulary is reduced to strings of equations.

USS KATANA

Treyena Bra'an, the KATANA CMO, rather thoroughly expresses
her dislike of the proposed rearrangement of the Inquiry
proceedings, nearly leaving her security escort behind as
she rushes from a room full of ignorant critics.

After proper dismissal, Captain Thelek collapses into a chair
in his quarters to ponder the last few moments. He sees an
antagonism growing between Bra'an and Marshal, the captain
acting as prosecutor. Bra'an had been touchy since beaming
over to Mosarra's base, but Marshal seemed to --enjoy-- the
harsh role he had been called upon to play. Thelek's reverie
is interrupted by Takoth's advisement of their imminent
arrival at OMEGA.

After assuring a grinning dock controller that they are aware
that their hull is green, the KATANA takes its place at Gaia
drydock 8. Two officers are then called to Thelek's readyroom.
Lt Te'Paul is dismissed from his duty to the KATANA, with
his failure to return the KAT's hull to normal as only the
most recent of his failures. Lt Paul London is given orders
based on the request of the Drakis Minor testing range for his
piloting skills.

USS COCHRANE

After rescuing JP and destroying the Dominion base the Cochrane
returned
to SB Omega. En route a ship was despatched to arrest Nash and
Watanui.
Nash and JP were seriously injured during the destruction of the
Dominion base. The Cochrane was ordered back to Omega so that the CO
and FO could answer the charges brought against them by the Fleet CO.
Nash denied that he was a part of SF, arguing that the Admiral who
made
him a Navy CO was in actual fact a Founder and therefore Naval charges
could not be brought against him. Meanwile, T'Zu, Ryan and Smythe
were
caught 'liberating' Dominion ship parts by a Fleet Security vessel.

DS 101

Roberts questioned one of the prisoners from the Akira without the
Captains
permission. And was offered the chance to bat for the other team. But
wasn't too impressed with them trying to kill him first then asking
him to
work for them. Hogan calls the Captain and tells her that the sensors
have
picked up a reading of metagenic particles from near the Vurtedion
borders,
but has not been discharged yet. Alyza orders max warp to intercept
the
compound before it's fired into Vurtedion space.

USS CURIE

The Curie loses its engines as they are shut down from the still
functioning Dergrad ship. Meanwhile, aboard that ship, the Away team
is taken hostage and thier demands are made to the Curie. S'keth
fights back and almost succeeds in defeating his captors, but is taken
by surprise and knocked unconscience, fialing to free the team. Leeds
informs the Dergrad leader that this act constitutes an act of war
against the federation, and that the Curie will destroy this ship and
EVERYBODY on it if they stay on this course of action.

Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report:
by Cmdr. Ilu

A ceasefire exists between the Federation and the Na'Chem. The Juun
have
made no official comment. Several Officials sacked from the Juun
government following the exposure of genocide committed against the
Na'Chem by the Juun have attempted to lure the Federation into a war
with
the Na'Chem. Starfleet is investigating these allegations of Genocide
against the Na'Chem heavily which may threaten the Juun's position in
the
Federation. Starfleet Intelligence Officers are on the scene and
investigating the reports of Romulan influence in the matter.

A small number of Na'Chem factions are refusing to acknowledge the
ceasefire. Calling themselves the Na'stiu, they continue raids
against
the Juun.

An area of space being dubbed the ‘Bermuda Triangle' has left Several
Starfleet vessels missing. A ship has been sent to investigate.

Amgine Sector Report:
by Lt. Serin Erl

Deep Space 101 has returned to it's previous location. The exact
circumstances of it's disappearance have been divulged to Cocoon Fleet
Headquarters.

Outpost 108's construction proceeds on schedule, it's support vessel
however has left on a joint mission with the Klingon vessel "Kahless'
Blood".

The USS CURIE has returned from the far end of the Cocoon.

A new HAWKING class ship has arrived to replace the aging FEYNMAN.

Beyond the Portal:
by Lt. Michael Walters

The Klingon Empire has established a Ceasefire with the Federation
following the exposure of a conspiracy between the Klingon Houses in
the
former Occupied zone and the Cardassian Union.
Peace Negotiations are proceeding slowly on Khitomer, several of the
Federation's top ambassadors have been sent and recent reports say
that
the Negotiations are nearing an end.

Fleet yards across the Federation are putting in extra effort to bring
the fleets numbers back up to what they were before the war. What
Starfleet lacks now is the personnel to staff those ships. Federation
fleets are regrouping and rebuilding following the recent war. The
eighth fleet, sixth and third fleets are the only fleets so far to
regain
their numbers to what they were before the war.

The wormhole at DS 12 has finally sufficiently stabilized for traffic
to
resume to the Gamma Quadrant.
