It seems everyone is stopping by the brig to look over CSO Mercedes
McCarter's design as assistCSO Chandler T'krn oversees the work. When
new OPS officer Ensign Christopher Michaels drops by he gets a chance to
compliment Mercedes on the efficiency of her design, too. These informal
inspections of the construction don't compare to the full-crew dock
arrival inspection. CO Judah Gibbons chooses the medical division for
special attention this time, then announces Dr. Ian Rogers' transfer to
the Academy staff. This leaves CMO duties squarely on Ensign Chip's
shoulders alone. At the same assembly, Gibbons also hands out the
promotions he has approved including two for the senior staff: Jur
Lehron and Logaan Woods both from Ensign to Lt. After these awards,
those not on first dock shift are dismissed on liberty.
Promotions aren't the only changes. Chandler T'krn-McCarter's request to
be transfered back to Engineering is granted, pending an ok from CEO
Patricia Brauckmiller, even after she ralphs in one of the captain's
vases. The chronic pre-noon vomiting turns out to be an indicator that
Yossarian and Chandler's family of two will soon be a family of three.
CNS Logaan Woods' sudden mental instability after striking Mercedes when
half asleep turns out to have been part of an exceptionally vivid
nightmare and he gets a chance to do some real counselling again when
Chandler stops by his office to share her feelings of inadequacy as a
mother-to-be. Logaan tells her no one goes into parenthood prepared to
do a good job, rather they do everything they can and enjoy their
children. Then he asks her to stop by again at her convenience so they
can talk more on the subject.
FO Miranda Sands gets a chance to chat with their new OPS. After
reviewing the whole philosophy behind the OPS position to help him get
back into the swing of power and computer time allocation for the ship,
Sands shares her station interface as well as tips on their current
situation. It can be tricky to coordinate ship engineers and base
engineers onboard, EVA, and dockside, but it can be done if you keep on
your toes and have an efficient system such as the one she shows him.

At the staff meeting, CMO Electra Threin says sickbay should be ready
for casualties, should they discover the USS Meade to be in trouble. CO
JamesBurke tells everyone to prepare for the worst.
OPS Blaze Starsinger oversees the unloading of the colonization pod,
bringing a successful end to their mission. After ordering the Horizon
on a course for the Nauv sector, Burke heads to the Ship's Edge for a
working lunch with CSO James Mauler.

With the officers looking over the mission, and the state of the Geltan
III Planet, the ships long range sensors, showed that the inhabitants
may be symbionts, but further scans will be needed to justify this,
because at the ships current location none of the crew could be sure.
The crew prepare a launch of a probe. With this launch, it had detected
some more useful information about the planet, and included signs that a
Star Fleet Vessel was indeed in a struggle, with some of the debry still
orbiting the planet, and some of the ships remains entering the planets
atmosphere.
Picking up on some transmissions, thought from the planet they are
investigating, pictures show, that the Aliens, maybe humanoid, but more
importantly, the pictures showed that the people were completely naked,
Cmdr Halifax hopes that this is a misinterpretation, other wise the away
teams, will need extra cosmetic surgery, before leaving to explore the
planet.

It's determined that the time loops are not a natural occurrence.
Captain Alyza and LtCmdr Stuart visit a shop on the Mall Level. After
sufficient persuasion the owner of the shop reveals that he purchased a
crystal from a 'Vulcan', clad in black.
The alien operators of a mysterious machine that might be the cause of
the time loops, cannot get their machine to work without the second
crystal. Unfortunately the second crystal in currently in DS 101 Science
Lab. The crystal is found to emitting positrons at random
intervals - do these intervals match with the alien's use of his
machine. Such activation of the crystal precedes each time loop.
Suddenly three men invade the Science Lab, weapons firing. A yellow
cloud surrounds the crystal and Fischer, Canon, and others lose
consciousness. The lab invaders return the crystal to Salim's quarters,
who inserts it into his machine. Now the machine works. It opens a
portal and the alien steps through.
Dr Poynton, trapped in the past on DS 101, learned from a man in
Starfleet uniform that Poynton had been sent into the past to save DS
101 from destruction. The Starfleet officer, Alden, is a hologram,
visible only to Poynton, and acts as a guide... of sorts. Talking with
the inhabitants of DS 101, Poynton learns that they are a feline race. .
He also learns that a comet in on a collision course with DS 101.
On the NIGHTINGALE, Specialist Kari prepares for the upcoming mission to
the pre-warp planet. Cmdr Kelen, onboard the DARK ANGEL, battles the
Talonid fleet. Another DARK ANGEL, commanded by a future version of
Kelen, leads the way to the Talonid homeworld. Future Kelen reveals that
in the future the Talonid have spread widely. Now, he insists is the
time to destroy the Talonid homeworld, before they grow too powerful.
