aFO Abi Seldon and OPS/a2O D'Art Storm enter one the CGT training
programs set up by CSO Nathan Cady. Meanwhile, Stan the Man configures
the Awaystan program to function as Emergency Counselling Hologram until
a new counsellor is assigned.
On his first day as CSO, Cady has to negotiate a hostage situation in
the lounge. Professor Chosky has been shot and one of the Joyeans has
been captured by one of Chosky's assistants. The ECH quickly arrives to
help.
SB Omega hails to ask if the Horizon could check up on the USS Yeager.
The Yeager is experiencing problems with their warp engines. Cmdr.
Rudolf Fischer, Yeager's CO, says an invisible creature has left organic
waste in the deuterium tanks. He asks if the Horizon could take the
creature aboard so the Yeager can proceed on its mission.

N'Borga receives a request from Stan the Man, on the HORIZON. Stan has
taken over the duties of CEO on the HORIZON and requests that N'Borga
send the Emergency Counselor Hologram program to HORIZON. N'Borga
complies. On a remote Juun mountain top, a group of vigilantes known as
'The Market Traders' launch a raid on a terrorist position.

The NIGHTINGALE arrives at the Usari homeworld. Upon learning of Kersh'
s abduction, Capt Canon dispatches an Away Team to aid in the
Search-and-Rescue. Lt Hakon, Archeological Officer aboard the
HIKARU, volunteers to accompany the Away Team. Edmond learns that the
creature that abducted Kersh is called a Watcher, by the Usari. The
Watcher keeps 'watch' over the Usari sacred grounds. Edmond and Card
leave the Usari behind as they venture further into the sacred grounds
in search of Kersh. The Watcher flies over a stone structure, deep in
the mountains. Kersh struggles in its grip, which finally loosens and
Kersh falls. He awakens to find himself surrounded by stone walls.

USS YEAGER

The peptide material contaminating the YEAGER is discovered to be a
waste product of the birthing process of a previously unknown life form.
A predatory life form. It satisifies its initial hunger with the
YEAGER's crew. At a laboratory on the creature home planet, two
scientists have been using transporter technology, found in a crashed
starship, to capture the beasts. The transporter technology millenia
ahead of anything in the Cocoon. Its origin, unknown. One of their
experiments has mis-fired resulting in the transport of the beast aboard
the YEAGER. Fischer, et al, make progress on capturing the beast. Its
capture made all the harder because it is invisible to most sensors.
The HORIZON, arriving at SB OMEGA, is dispatched to meet the YEAGER and
take the beast off Fischer's hands.
