It looks like the "natives" are finally going to have to figure out a
new perimeter security system. Klingon OPS Mara Thull's caution in
stringing out her team paid the excellent dividend of revealing the sound-based
tunnel booby trap in a prominently shelved jar. The innocuous-seeming
yet interesting container hid a sonic stunning device that didn't have
sufficient range to take out all four of them. The instant Mara
stumbled under the device's assault, Dasani, one of CSO Mercedes
McCarter's staff, 'switched' it off with a phaser blast. Already
almost entirely recovered,
Mara sends them into hiding, sure that the trap is being monitored.
Sure enough, several guys shortly arrive and, finding Mara lying in
front of their little gem, prepare to cuff her to keep her from
causing Klingon style trouble when she comes to. Problem is, they
don't realize she's awake --now-- until the one who leaned over to
restrain her is sliding down the opposite wall, insensate, and they
have had a warning shot from Dasani's ever useful phaser fired over
their heads. When asked where they take their prisoners, they unwisely
withhold the answer. Mara offers to 'persuade' them and, when they
protest to Dasani that it would be against Federation laws for the
other three HAMILTON officers to just stand by while she tortures
them, Dasani calmly replies that all kinds of things can happen in a
shootout. You never know what you are up against and all kinds of
things can happen to people before it's all over.
Having a few neurons between them, they start yapping their heads off.

In the CGT, aFO Abi Seldon and OPS/a2O D'Art Storm try to defend a
couple of cargo vessels against Dominion attackers.
CO James Burke wraps up the last loose ends from the recent mission,
paving the way for some well-deserved shoreleave. CMO Electra Threin
and SOCO Arkanis are promoted to Lieutenant JG and full Lieutenant,
respectively. Sasha Kali, bridge relief officer, is promoted to
Lieutenant-Commander and FO of the USS Audre Lorde, the Emerald
Fleet'sflagship. Later, she hears the Audre Lorde is docked at SB
Omega. Admiral Tergin, Emerald Fleet CO and former captain of the
Horizon, has returned to the Cocoon for both business and pleasure.
His greeting with Cady and Storm is one of big joy.
The Yeager has transported the invisible creature to the Horizon.

The Usari refuse to give over-flight permission to the area of the
castle-keep where Kersh is stranded. Ordered not to overfly the area,
Emond and Card enter the area on foot determined to rescue the CNS.
Relucantly Stuart follows the no over-flight orders and continues to
place the comm-relay beacons. He orders the second NIGHTINGALE
shuttle, the ALEXANDER FLEMING, to maintain a high circular orbit to
keep an eye on Emond and Card. Back on the NIGHTINGALE, Kelen
discovers the reason why the Usari are not allowing overflights and
begins to explain to Canon. Meanwhile, Emond and Card find Kersh and
they come under attack. Emond is struck by an poisoned arrow and
feared dead. Something is blocking the rescue team's comm signals,
thus preventing a call for help.

USS YEAGER

Fischer orders the YEAGER to be separated; the saucer section to
investigate Gaia-1 and the stardrive section to investigate Juun-1.
Fischer remains aboard the saucer section, the FO with the stardrive
section. Lt Qoensal is to lead the Security Team at Juun-1. Initial
scans of the relay stations shows molecular decay, possibly caused by
weapons fire. No evidence of a ship, other than the Zahal, is found.
Which leaves open the possiblity of a cloaked ship or a starship using
unknown technology.
