CO Burke begins the staff meeting. The Horizon will "show the flag" in the
Saishan sector, starting at the Telmarc homeworld. Behind the scenes, they
are to try and find out where recent violent actions are coming from. He
tells Arkanis the SpecOps team won't be coming into action right away, but
they should be prepared to move when needed. After the meeting, he calls
Arkanis to his office for a private talk. It seems Jeb Stuart, a SFIntel
operative posing as a smuggler, has been kidnapped on Telmarc III. Burke
asks Arkanis to keep an eye out for him.
Meanwhile on Deserete in the Najorab sector, several thousand students
demonstrate against Starfleet's control of the Cocoon Portal. At the same
time, the warehouse of the Telmarc Trade Corporation is looted.
Lt. Xathras Jah, a Trill temporal dynamics specialist, arrives on the USS
Renegade to replace Ensign Lonu. Arkanis takes a moment to say hello to
LtCmdr. Jarek Malaar, former FCO of the Horizon and now CO of the Renegade

shielding systems have been lost. aFCO Kallesin suggests to beam the

reconstruction is still going on. Little progress has been made so far,
but CO Fischer has approved the newest capture plan; attract the
responsible by pretending to have a new holodeck reconstruction, and
hope that he will take the bait.
