Ambassador Pendar arrives aboard with his two "escorts", Yridu and Fryda.
Captain Burke and Lt. Einicrox greet him and instantly dislike him. They
show him to his quarters on the diplomatic level. Einicrox returns to
reading Lt. Darwin's logs. The rogue gravitational waves, dubbed bumpers by
the Chupacabra's crew, got increasingly worse as the neutron stars spiraled
in on each other. Before Einicrox reaches the end of the logs, she is called
away to the diplomatic level. One of Pendar's escorts is walking around
armed, but refuses to say why. At that moment the Horizon is hit by one of
those bumpers, sending everyone flying.
On the bridge, Lt O'Leary struggles to regain control of the ship.
Artifical gravity was knocked offline, but is slowly restored. At ops,
Lt O'Brady receives reports of numerous injuries throughout the ship. As
external sensors come back online, he discovers those injuries are only a
minor problem. They are no longer in the Denalitis system in 2417, but close
to Earth about a thousand years in the past.
