USS HORIZON

Cpt Burke and his wife shortly talk about their daughter and the current
situation. He then meets LtCmdr Einicrox in Shuttlebay One. He understands
the need to hide from the P'ronflrr'ecx where Einicrox's true loyalty lies
and plays along as she calls for the rite of Ushaan. He asks her to his
office to discuss this. Meanwhile, Kathy Burke passes on the captain's
instructions, and down in Main Engineering the warp system comes back to
life.
In his ready room, Cpt. Burke is told about the Ushaan by Vymora Einicrox.
It is a complex ritual and the preparations are extensive. For the benefit
of the P'ronflrr'ecx Einicrox threatens the captain that she will best him
in the duell. Some time later, she oversees the very slow set-up of the
fighting-ring and grimly practices her attacks and defenses.
On Athel Loren II, as the most of the P'ronflrr'ecx rushes into the statue
in the cave, LtCmdr n'Galeda activates a stasis-field around the statue as
soon as the entity has finished its transfer. N'Galeda contacts the HORIZON
that the entity has arrived. Then all his concentration is needed to keep
the entity from breaking free again from the stasis field. Once they have
flushed the entity completely out of the ship's systems, he hopes, Einicrox
and the others will come to his aid.
The part of the P'ronflrr'ecx that is still aboard the HORIZON doesn't trust
Einicrox and her plan to challenge the captain and thinks of destroying her
once it has regained its full strength. It worms its way through the ship's
systems and plans to regain control over the ship and its crew. When it
tries to contact the larger part of itself on the planet it is enraged and
horrified when it finds a new stasis field imprisoning it again.
In Sickbay, LtCmdr Nova'Song refused to be sent to bed by the doctors. She
does not want to rest while the ship is still in danger. She thanks Ensign
Goose for his help earlier and offers him a position on the bridge. Then, in
mental contacts with Cassandra Burke, Nova'Song thanks the child for her
help and comforts her. Later, she meets with Cpt Burke in his Ready Room and
they discuss the current situation.
Down on Athel Loren II, as LtCmdr n'Galeda struggles to keep the entity
inside the stasis, the P'ronflrr'ecx contacts him and orders n'Galeda to
release it. When n'Galeda refuses, it tries to lure him with images of its
magnificence in ages past. n'Galeda contacts the HORIZON to let them know
that he won't be able to keep the stasis field running for much longer.
In the Gymnasium, LtCmdr Einicrox is physically attacked by the
P'ronflrr'ecx and she falls unconscious. Her mind re-awakes on the
tele-plains and the entity confronts her in the shape of a giant Andorian
fire-demon. The entity is enraged that Vymora betrayed it, and wants to
destroy her and attacks her with a flaming sword.
Meanwhile, Computer Chief Gates isolates the remaining presence of the
entity into a memory nodule and disconnects it from the rest of the systems.
He reports his success to Cpt Burke and LtCmdr Nova'Song. In the Ready Room,
the two commanding officers also receive n'Galeda's communication that soon
the stasis field holding the entity on the planet will collapse. On the
planet, the Guardian is impressed with the inventiveness of the organic and
not-quite-organic beings and decides to help them. He sends power to its
brother's systems to repair them faster. On the HORIZON, the isolated small
part of the P'ronflrr'ecx is put into a torpedo casing and launched out into
space, where the torpedo is destroyed by a matter-antimatter explosion. The
Guardian realizes that there is only one way to permanently keep the
P'ronflrr'ecx from escaping. Before it starts to act, it brings Dr. Naestra
and the members of the missing science team aboard the HORIZON.
In the Gymnasium, Nova'Song kneels by Vymora Einicrox's unconscious shape.
She knows the entity is confronting the Half-Andorian on the tele-plains but
she is too weak to help Einicrox there. The only help she can give is to
have Vymora remember an occurrence from two years past. Nova'Song later
falls unconscious and is wakened by a mental scream from Cassandra Burke.
The mystic understands the child's warning and contacts the captain to get
the ship out of the star system as fast as possible.
On the tele-plains. Vymora Einicrox battles the P'ronflrr'ecx and fights for
her own life and that of her crew-family. Observed by the hidden mental
presences of Nova'Song and Cassandra she finds strength in her own courage
and love and is able to defeat the demon-god. With that victory also ends
successfully her own inner battle.
As the Athel star is about to go nova. The Marines find themselves and their
ship back in the Shuttle Bay. As the last not-imprisoned part of the
P'ronflrr'ecx is destroyed by LtCmdr Einicrox on the tele-plains, LtCmdr
Nova'Song sees the Guardians in their original glory and understands their
decision to end the existence of all Gerlayty. She reassures them that they
will not be forgotten. In the physical world, LtCmdr Einicrox regains
consciousness and heads with Nova'Song to the bridge. As the Bridge crew
observes the growing instability of the star, the First Officer wonders
about possible inhabitants of other planets in this system.
On the Bridge of the HORIZON, two safe light-hours away from the super nova,
LtCmdr Einicrox reminisces about the death and destruction the humanoid
interference in the Athel system has caused, about the dangers the HORIZON
crew has escaped, about her own victories, and finds that she suddenly cares
about such things.
Previously, on Athel Loren II. As LtCmdr n'Galeda is about to loose his
battle with the imprisoned P'ronflrr'ecx the Guardian's brother appears and
stabilizes the stasis field. Kallesin n'Galeda, full of questions but
without receiving an answer, is sent back to the Bridge of the HORIZON,
where he meets Vymora Einicrox for a long embrace. His proposal to the
captain to observe the supernova from a safe distance is accepted. Later,
after the explosion, the HORIZON is on her way to the starbase, n'Galeda can
assure Cpt Burke and the others that the entity was completely destroyed
along with the star system. Burke is satisfied and orders everyone to
sickbay, rest etc., including n'Galeda who is told to improve his awful, i.
e. singed and smoldering appearance.

Ben Austin and Korttīs gang enter the holographic ship. They are ambush by
a pair of Romulans and detect bio signs that seemed to belong to the
captive crewmembers. Desmond Park remembers the layout of "his" ship and
the fact that a dangerous secret weapon is part of the program.
In the meantime LT Syllis and LT Hanson begin to reboot the computer with
the help of Kortt and DeWinter while at the same time they search for
clues about the practical joker now nicknamed "Smiley".
