"The Creation of Worlds!"

What would it be like to be utterly unable to lose your peace and absolutely incapable of unhappiness?

Most people would say: "Nice fantasy, but the world would have to be a lot different than the world as God created it." After all, how easy is it to choose constant total peace in the world as we see it? Isn't the world we see a place of pain, sickness, suffering and death?

Enter Jesus with His 21st century revelation: A Course in Miracles. And Lo and behold, we find out that the oneness ("Hear, O Israel, the Lord thy God is One.") didn't create this place of sickness and suffering after all!

"The world as YOU perceive it cannot have been created by the Father, for the world is NOT as you see it. God created ONLY the eternal, and everything YOU see is perishable. Therefore, there must be another world which you do NOT see." (ACIM Chap. 11, section VII)

Hmmm! Let's see if the Holy Bible gives us a hint about God's creation.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters." (Genesis 1: 1-2)

We see that God created earth, but the earth God created was formless. Not earth as we usually experience it today.

"And God said, 'Let there be light;' and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness." (Genesis 1: 3-4)

So far no pain, sickness, suffering, or death. Nice work! And so it goes for 6 steps in the process, the oneness separating itself into more and more forms, but still no evidence of God creating sickness, suffering, pain, or death. It would appear that despite the beginning separation of oneness into forms there still isn't much differientiation from the oneness, and the creation is apparently intended to be a joyously fun place to live, a Garden of Eden.

"And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, 'You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.' " (Genesis 2: 16-17)

Oops! The concept of death. Where did that come from? Obviously being only of the oneness, Adam and Eve couldn't die because the oneness doesn't die. So the phrase "you should die" can only be a metaphor: "If you start thinking in terms of good and evil, you're going to experience fear. Knowing fear, you will not experience the fullness of life. Not able to experience the fullness of life, you are going to believe in death, not to mention pain, sickness, and suffering."

In His Course Jesus puts it this way:

"The real world can ACTUALLY BE PERCEIVED. All that is necessary is a willingness to perceive nothing ELSE. For if you perceive both good AND evil, you are accepting both the false AND the true, AND MAKING NO DISTINCTION BETWEEN THEM. The ego may see SOME good, but never ONLY good. That is WHY its perceptions are so variable. It does not reject goodness entirely, for that you could not accept. But it always ADDS something that is NOT real TO the real, thus CONFUSING ILLUSION AND REALITY." (ACIM Chap. 11, section VII)

Do you see that if there is no reason to believe that God created a world of pain, sickness, suffering and death, then there is every reason for tremendous hope? In fact, we find out from Jesus that there is joyous reason for something far greater than hope ... absolute certainty that mankind's mistakes have already been taken care of. We only need get out of the way.

That's the good news! Hallelujah!

The bad news is, for many, it's harder than hell to get out of the way.

That's where A Course in Miracles comes in. If you thought Jesus once taught some form of esoteric discipleship requiring doing and called "The Way," now you hear a very different story. The Course is a device given by Jesus, which if used properly, undoes all your doing and gets you out of all ways (and into always). The Course lifts you all the way out of fear and into total peace and happiness ... if you allow it.

Unfortunately there is truth to the old saying that it's harder to get Course students to allow the Course to work on them than it is to get Christians to pick up the Course books and start accepting them as the work of Jesus.

For some reason, many Course students prefer to study, and study, and study, and study, and study ... and they never allow themselves to enter into the totally glorious out-of-this-world experience Jesus wants for them, which many other Christians are already experiencing even though they have never read the books and would not admit they are immersed in the Course.

As strange as it seems, the greatest helpers in bringing about the world's salvation are charismatic Christians and Jews who, although they may not pick up the Course books, have been willing to give up their doing, get themselves out of the way, and allow an expansion into the all-encompassing not-of-this-world experience Jesus says is the goal of the Course.

For only when we disengage the intellect and allow the tremendous expansion of spirit do we recognize by experience that worlds upon worlds are being created right now. Only then does our entire heart and soul spontaneously rejoice in the process, literally "seeing" how one thought of love and caring and peace in a spiritually opened mind transforms a million thoughts of death in little minds.

Not study, but actual literal spiritual opening is the answer. And as we pray for and accept this heavenly opening, this experience which is infinitely beyond our wildest fantasies, then the knowledge that we are saving all worlds becomes known as wordless certainty, and a joyous heart and soul assurance is beyond question:
