2005 Miracles Prediction!

The year 2005 promises to be a year of incredible wonders and miracles. It will be a year when the entire earth breaks out into new and unheard of experiences of love and peace and joy.

Transformation is happening everywhere. The breakthroughs occurring in churches, especially charismatic Christian churches, are not figuratively but literally out of this world ... consciousness "goes out" and later returns having experienced more glory than ever and brings powerful healing light back to earth. In privately run seminars and trainings millions are learning to drop outer defenses and join in love. In enlightened business enterprises employees are being taught to choose passion, caring, and fun. And ... the worst nightmare of those who prefer to worship the political state rather than God ... an occasional elected official has actually been overheard talking about following spiritual guidance.

As the Judy Garland song says, "Sing hallelujah! Come on, get happy!" 2005 is looking good!

In the Spring of 2005, in a city actually founded on spiritual principles, the largest gathering ever of users of A Course in Miracles will meet in grand celebration of the healing, inspiration, and spiritual opening which Jesus has been able to accomplish using the Course as a device. The International Conference on A Course in Miracles will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah from April 22 through April 24, 2005 (Click here for online registration).

The good news about Miracles conferences is that everybody has an opportunity to once again meet each together, love each other, respect each other, bask in each other's light and hopefully ascend to an experience out of this world, maybe even rising to the level of experience offered by Christian charismatics.

The trick is to attend such a conference and not defend against God. But let's imagine that some time-honored defensive mechanisms are being taught and promoted by various Miracles teachers. What then?

The foremost defense against God is intellectualism. Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford were certified hard-core intellectuals and the Course was given to them in answer to their desire to find a better way. Jesus intended the Course to undo their seemingly hopeless habit of having their intellects engaged, to undo their addiction to analysis, and to undo their desire for "educational" style understanding which uses concept formation and logic to circumnavigate the wisdom of the heart and soul.

The tendency of intellectually oriented minds might be to analyze the Course and allow the Course to undo old belief systems only to replace them with a new "Course belief system," "Course philosophy," or "Course theology." But what Jesus really asks is surrender into the undoing altogether, total non-engagement of the intellect so one stands "naked," so to speak, not knowing anything or what anything is for, thus allowing an experience of God's glory to be accepted.

"The ego analyzes; the Holy Spirit ACCEPTS. The appreciation of wholeness comes only through acceptance, for to analyze MEANS to separate out." (Unedited ACIM, Text Chap. 11 Section V)

So if you attend conference and hear a Miracles teacher talking about the Course rather than inviting you to join into an experience of unthinkable peace, love, and joy ... it might be time to take a break and be with God.

The second huge defense against God is willingness to see ego. Helen and Bill were trained professionals in the field of psychology, thoroughly immersed in the Freudian language of ego. So Jesus, as he does with everyone always, used their concepts in the process of undoing their concepts.

Despite using the language of ego to meet Helen and Bill where they were at, and despite their need of a temporary assignment to recognize the ego for what it really is (or is not), the Course finally teaches that you don't want to recognize ego. What you really, really, really want is an experience which only occurs when human seeing is undone and ego is no longer seen.

"Therefore, the Holy Spirit’s third lesson is: 'Be vigilant ONLY for God and HIS Kingdom'.... If you allow yourselves to HAVE in your minds only what God put there, you are acknowledging your mind as God created it. Therefore, you are accepting it AS IT IS. And since it IS whole, you are teaching peace BECAUSE you have believed in it." (Unedited ACIM, Text Chap. 6 Section VII)

"The miracle is always there. Its presence is not caused by your vision; its absence is not the result of your failure to see. It is only your awareness of miracles that is affected. You will see it in the light; you will not see it in the dark." (Unedited ACIM, Workbook Lesson 91)

A subcategory of seeing ego is the modern fad of wanting to "work on oneself" or "practice self-inquiry" in the hopes that "working" or "practice" or "doing" will somehow bring about spiritual enlightenment. Such an attitude springs from lack of trust. Addicted doers simply do not trust that the Holy Spirit very literally takes care of everything if we allow ourselves to be "out of the picture," so to speak. Doers simply cannot bring themselves to step out of the picture. They cannot grasp that, as the Course says, we need do nothing. They choose not to acknowledge that we must learn to do nothing with our mind in order to experience the glory of God.

"If you are willing to recognize your problems, you will recognize that you have no problems. Your one central problem has been answered, and you have no other. Therefore you must be at peace. Salvation does depend on recognizing this one problem, and understanding that it has been solved. One problem--one solution. Salvation is accomplished. Freedom from conflict has been given you." (Unedited ACIM, Workbook Lesson 80)

It's as simple as this: your mind makes your world. If you see ego, you make more ego. The more you practice recognizing ego, the more ego you make. The more you attempt to undo for yourself rather than surrender to letting the Holy Spirit be the undoer, the more you make a doer and therefore trap yourself in human identification. The more you work on who you think you are, the more you make real who you think you are.

Charismatic Christians minimize this ego-making problem which is often maximized by Course students. In their revivals and renewal services such charismatics endeavor to put all their focus on God alone ... and then totally trust the Holy Spirit is capable and eager to add onto them what needs be added. "Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven." "Love the lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, and being." Leaving it all to the Holy Spirit, they are able to totally melt into God or be totally taken over, so to speak, by the God experience.

If you attend conference and hear a Course teacher talking about being vigilant for the ego so that you can choose once again, and again, and again; or do work on yourself again, and again, and again; maybe you can find a room off to the side somewhere, invite a few friends, and together surrender all defenses and enter into the glorious experience Jesus really wants you to experience.

Another sometimes misunderstood defense against God is the use of intention. Almost all religions use intention and usually call it "prayer," although intention is not the kind of prayer the Course would advocate other than being in touch with our deepest desire to look only to God, constantly thank God, and every moment say "yes" to God, much in the manner of charismatic Christians.

Intention is used to "pull back the bowstring" of the mind, to build pressure for the eventual release. But nothing can occur until the release happens and only ego consciousness thinks more pressure needs to be built. "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." God knows that just being in human condition is enough pressure as it is, and it's not hard to see God saying in a fine Jewish accent: "Just release, already!"

A problem arises when intention is used again and again and again as a habit. It's the same principle as with the person who says, "I have prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and my prayer has never been answered." Anyone with common sense would say, "Well, quit praying and your answer will show itself!" One fully felt prayer is enough. A Course in Miracles addresses this principle in the Manual for Teachers while answering a question about using intention over and over again:

"For a teacher of God to remain concerned about the result of healing is to limit the healing.... Now the teacher of God has only one course to follow. He must use his reason to tell himself that he has given the problem to One Who cannot fail, and must recognize that his own uncertainty is not love but fear, and therefore hate. (Unedited ACIM, Manual for Teachers)

To summarize: if you are going to conference, you'll find yourself having the most fun and getting the most out of it if you release all defenses ... if you do nothing.

"But I just don't know how to do nothing."

Actually, you do know. Non-doing is your natural state. Doing is what created the world you no longer want and what keeps you out of the world you really want. You may have lost the habit of non-doing, but the memory is inside you. Reclaiming the memory is as simple as closing your eyes and asking: "Holy Spirit, help me. I want to feel what it feels like to do absolutely nothing with my mind." Then just wait. You'll be surprised to discover that you can do nothing very well. And you'll be amazed absolutely out of this world with the result.

"But wouldn't it help to feel the bright light energy of someone who lives in the world I really want ... and allow that spiritual power to lift me out of this world I no longer want?"

You bet! To this end you might want to contact Miracles Healing Center. Your advanced brothers from this extremely bright spiritual center even have a way of talking to you via your computer if you have a microphone attachment. If not, you can feel connected to them and feel oneness with them via email. Also, rumor has it and God willing, there will be a couple representatives from the Miracles Healing Center at the conference in Salt Lake City.

It might be helpful to quote from one who had practiced all the spiritual path type defenses against God only to find himself desperately crying for help and finally being introduced to bright brothers who know defenselessness:

"Here is a list of activities in my dream familiar to anyone walking the 'path of spirituality:' devouring texts of the world's great religions; going into therapies…Gestalt, psychotherapy, group and hypnotherapy; studying in A Course in Miracles groups; meditating, journaling; incessantly discussing with other 'searchers' polarities within my dream. Yet all the time escaping my waking dream by sedating myself at night into its exact counterpart, my sleeping dream.

"I am so grateful that over two years ago I crossed the threshold of Endeavor Academy. I had not let myself realize how fearful and exhausted I was from my journeying." (Prologue of "Through a Mirror, Brightly" by Raymond Comeau)

Which brings us to our 2005 Miracles prediction:

Exhausting oneself in the old style is on the way out. The Course in Miracles movement will become a much more charismatic movement, with Miracles students everywhere letting the Holy Spirit take them over, so to speak, just as revivalist Christians allow in their meetings, as Shakers and Quakers and Mormons allowed in their early days, as prophets and seers and shamans have allowed since time began. The 2005 conference will bring a miraculous shift.

In the year 2005 this goal of Jesus, this dazzling, radiant, triumphant, divine experience will be widely permitted and appreciated. Whether we finally disengage our mind at the Miracles Conference, or surrender at charismatic Christian praise and worship services, or merely sit on our porch and allow ourselves to melt into the heart of God, we will all be experiencing the same miracle....
