"Let the Word Spread!"
The announcement of the second coming of Jesus Christ will certainly be seen first in the blogosphere. It's already happening.
A blog is basically an online personal journal which may also contain bulletin board postings, links to other websites, and comments by viewers. A company which rates Internet blogging sites currently tracks 20.4 million sites. Wow! Well over twenty million individuals hoping to share their thoughts with millions of others!
Since there are not twenty million fully enlightened beings on earth, one can conclude that there certainly is a tremendous volume of ego commentary and ego advice floating around. In fact, with the advent of untold numbers of blog sites on the Internet, it almost seems like ego utterances have mushroomed exponentially. Of course underneath all the millions of ways the ego has of saying things, the ego really has only one message: "Under no circumstances are you to be at peace and be happy!"
Among all these chaotic words there nonetheless flows good news. It turns out that Jesus also has an influence in the earth-wide electronic network, which blesses us with a more uplifting underlying message: "Be at peace and choose happiness! Let me show you how!"
In a world of pain, sickness, and suffering where ministers of countries, political party leaders, and opinion writers are too often driven by fear and hatred, Jesus is saying, "Take another look at Christianity. Not the kind of Christianity that sets Catholics against Protestants, or conservative Baptists against liberal Methodists, but a Jesus-guided Christianity, some of which may have been forgotten from time to time, and some of which may have been obscured by a hundred and one human-viewpoint Bible interpretations.
To those willing and able to quiet their intellects altogether, Jesus says: "Listen inside and hear My Voice." To those addicted to having things make sense intellectually, Jesus gives His 21st century revelation: A Course in Miracles as an intellect-taming and undoing device.
Jesus clearly wants His Christianity to reach around the earth and His teachings to spread among those who call themselves "Christians." He wants evangelism for our sake. He so loves us that he wants everyone's experience on earth to be raised to the very gateway of heavenly experience.
If our true nature is freedom, Jesus wants freedom to reign all over the earth. Let there be no more despotism or subjugating socialisms. If our true nature is peace, Jesus works for peace everywhere on earth. Let any military endeavors in future years be guided by Him, for no other reason than to eventually bring a final end altogether to initiated atrocities and war. If our true nature is love, Jesus teaches to love everyone as oneself. If our true nature is joy, we can imagine Jesus singing maybe in a happy baritone voice: "joy to the world!"
How does Jesus get His song out to the world? How does He reach past the establishment guardians of ego-vested scriptural interpretations and philosophies? Well, just as this century's Internet news bloggers are calling last century's hopelessly biased news establishment to honesty, so are a handful of Christian bloggers peacefully nudging the more encrusted Christian religious establishments toward truth and nothing but the truth.
One increasingly popular Christian blog site posts current news headlines followed by the Holy Spirit's comments, which remind Christians of the true teaching of Jesus. For example, in answer to one headline about political divisiveness in America, the Holy Spirit commented partially:
"If you consider yourself a Democrat, be sure you are willing to also consider yourself a Republican. If you call yourself a Republican, be sure you are willing to call yourself a Democrat also. Only in this way can you feel the truth. Beneath the surface appearances there is no separation. There is only one."
This blog is well worth checking out. It is called: The Christian Prophet.
Another popular blog which is very sweet and loving does not even see earthly appearances, posting only highly inspirational and transformative messages from the Holy Spirit: Holy Inheritance.
An entire ring of blogs which radiate helpful spiritual power and often the Holy Spirit's direct words can be found at: Miracle Blogs.
Perhaps the most important aspect of the work of Jesus through any of these Internet blogs is utter lack of importance given to doctrine or dogma or philosophical interpretation, and almost total importance given to the experience of God. Liberal philosophers and secular humanists of the world can devise all kinds of logical arguments against one doctrine or another. But nobody can argue against the experience of the Holy Spirit once they start allowing themselves to really feel it.
Such an "ignoring doctrinal differences" approach has in recent years been taking hold in Christianity, and nothing could be more important for the joining together of all Christians. One Christian group says it this way on their website:
"We are members of many different denominations and attend many different local churches, but we don't let our denominational differences divide us. While we respect each other's doctrinal convictions we do everything we can to live our Lord's prayer for us, 'That they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou has sent me' (John 17:21)."
This group, People of Praise, like many modern Christian groups, focuses on the experience, the healing power of the experience, and the transformative power of the experience:
"Through baptism in the Holy Spirit we receive the whole Spirit of God. With the Spirit we can do things that only God can do! When the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) they received power--power to preach the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, change the world. Through the same Spirit we too have that power. With that power we are joining in Christ's work of redeeming, renewing and re-creating this world. A principal way in which our work in the world manifests itself is in fostering the spread of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of the charismatic gifts—gifts such as prophecy, healing and tongues (II Corinthians 12:9-10)."
But this People of Praise movement started long before Internet blogging. So some might wonder what is going on, and others might suspect another "network," maybe a non-electronic divine network we know not of. Jesus explains it by telling us there is only one mind. As we open to the Christ mind, as we allow our whole being to accept Jesus Christ as our savior, we find that His Voice is heard everywhere and the Word spreads throughout our entire world. There is nothing else to do.
Yet we rejoice in the success of these Internet blogging sites, which must only be reflections of the universe-encompassing divine network. We offer praise and thanks because these blogs do reach those who have been seeing mostly with human eyes and hearing mostly with human ears, and these blogs do bring peace, and doors are opened slightly ... and Jesus finds His way in.
