St.Nicholas was born at Patara in Lycia and died at Myra and buried in his cathedral.

He is famous for his extraordinary piety and zeal, and for performing many miracles.  He was the Bishop of Mayra in Turkey.  His remains are now venerated in the city of Bari in Italy. He is remembered for his acts of generosity, like the gifts of the three purses filled with gold that he gave to three poor girls.

                                        Today's advent activity:

Help someone who doesn't have as many things as you do.  Donate a toy or money to a charity in honor of St. Nick.
