Getting started

So you are now thinking of making your own batch of homebrew.  Be it that your good friends have gave you a batch of their homebrew, or maybe you just saw a starter kit at a local "chain" store.  The fact is that you have decided to start.

First off before you can start homebrewing there are a few things that you need to know.  Like how to do it and what kind of equipment to use.  Personally I wouldn't just run out and buy that $90.00 kit not knowing just a little bit about what you are buying and why.  As well as a little general knowledge. Knowing a little can save you a lot!!!

Before you get started, I have a few good ideas that will help in the long run.  Today there is a lot of great literature out there for the beginning homebrewer, though where to start?  A book that I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend is "The new Complete Joy Of Homebrewing," by Charlie Papazian.  This has been stated as "The Homebrew Bible,"  it really is, if you haven't checked it out, you might like to.
